Sir a more simple method of solving this question would be Da/dt =v and the point of intersection is a/2 length from the origin then velocity in x direction would be v/2 and similarly differentiate the distance of root ( r^2-a^2/4) as it is the vertical velocity and you know da/dt =v and now you will get the answer by just root of (vy^2+vx^2)
