btw a nice extension of this problem I solved: Find the position of the point (x,y) where the field line turns. (perpendicular to horizontal axis).

Just finished the problem, used angular momentum+mechanical energy for first part which is standard version of rutherford scattering/Pathfinder electrostatics problem. It's not mentioned but we can also use binomial approximation in first part as that (1+x) x term is very small when we put values of constants. But the second part is really interesting! What's the source of the second question sir?

Ok So If I Just Find th eqn of trajectory in polar format r(0) and then the impact parameter(b) and since electrostatic potential is repulsive in nature so only hyperbolic paths are possible and then just see where the asymptotes cut each other then it will be less calculative❤️❤️ What are ur views

i use notability to write using my ipad and for diagrams i use coral or mathdraw for equations also then sometime filling colors in ipad , its a painful process at the moment and takes lot of time , do let me know if you have a better solution to it .

thats a challenging part however my feeling says it must be hyperbola as total energy is positive and particle is going to infinity . will see if i can find that

@@INSP_NITIN Wow sir yes, it must be hyperbola by the analogy from projectile in gravitation chapter. Finding it shouldn't turn out to be very difficult as we know the two asymptodes (one along the projection line and other by symmetry) and for the constant we may use the point of minimum distance.
