Even with the battery at 0, this system is the ultimate "stuck in traffic" vehicle. You have all the climate control you need while the engine runs maybe 1 out of 5 minutes. I was stuck behind an accident for over an hour in Holiday, FL. And it was a nice feeling knowing I wasn't sitting there running the gas engine for climate constantly or have to sit there roasting in the Florida sun. It was using exactly as much energy as it needed to.

It’s pretty cool! Any stop and go traffic the 4xe just dominates. City driving in my jeep gladiator it gets like 13 mpg!

A couple of corrections for an otherwise really nice video. The climate runs off the 12v battery which is charged from the EV battery. Otherwise you are right, the gas engine does not need to run to have air or heat. The MPG gauge uses total miles and gas burned but does not take into account the electric costs if you plug in. So it's not quite right. You figured out the most economical use of the electric motor pretty fast. It loves crawling around parking lots and speeds up to about 65 or so. I have gotten to where I just leave mine in hybrid with max regen on pretty much all the time, let the computer figure it out. Unless you mash on the accelerator the gas engine very seldom comes on.

Thanks for the information! :) It was a very cool vehicle and I wish we had longer then a week with it! It was a lot of fun to drive, We put it in regen every time as well! It was nice how it slowed down on its own! I am hoping they offer the 4XE in the gladiator soon!

I have had my 4xe wrangler for 3 weeks now. Costed my $86 to fill it with premium just today. I did realize that on highway speeds of 60 or above, the battery uses a lot more. I think its best to use gas on highways and battery in city.

It definitely helps to use electric in city! The 4xe is super heavy compared to its counterparts and stop and go traffic takes a lot of gas. The electric with its regen can really help with that! The car excels in short trips for sure!
