Your channel keeps getting better my friend. Some great photography in this film. The shot of the Jeep riding into the night with the sun setting in the background was epic! I enjoy learning about the Oregon history too. That bunker could be modified into a survival shelter if need be. My favorite line, "I'm going to bring my rifle because I can" Love it!

Casey , that bunker is strongly reminiscent of an Explosives Bunker , for either Dynamite or Black Blasting Powder . The shelving inside would keep the Explosives up off the ground so that they don't wick up moisture from the soil . The rock wall in front of the entrance is a blast deflector in case of an accidental explosion . Suggest you check surrounding areas for Mining activity , but Explosives could also have been used by Farmers / Ranchers for blowing out tree stumps . -- < Doc , Miner for over 50 years > .

I like your solo trips the best. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because of the solitude. Exploring, Camp set up, fire making, cooking, coffee. When you have these elements all together in one video way out there in the wilderness. It’s just awesome to watch. Loved it. 👍👍👍.
@CoyoteWorks01
@CoyoteWorks01 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you. You know it’s funny you say that because this trip was the first solo trip for me again since before the big group trip. I’d been on three other trips since them but had other guys along with me for each of those next three trips. And don’t get me wrong I really enjoyed the time with those guys. But being back out there solo just reminded me that there is something I just really enjoy about being solo out there. I think at the end of the day the solo trips end up being the most personal and satisfying to me. And honesty I really enjoy the dynamic of being solo and doing my best to video the adventure. I think those solo trips also end up producing some of my best videos.

Beside wood, they would need a pretty good water source. I wonder if you looked for a current or old seep if that would make it easier to find. Just thinking out loud. Hi I have a Tacoma 2016 offroad. It has good ground clearance but 16 inch wheels. Kinda puny next to the 17s. Now I wish I had 17inch and the taco lifted several more inches. It is however OK for Michigan winters. I have found little open country here and none that compares to that high plains. The best I can do is get out to our great lake islands for a look at the milky way. The stars got to be fabulous there. I love to hear coyotes at night. PLEASE ADVISE!!

Thank you. I see a decent number of snakes in the summer. But i rarely ever kill them. Usually when I stumble across them it’s when I”m focused on exploring something and I just don’t want to take the time to stop, skin them, and carry them around with me until I get back to my Jeep. I have eaten them before. And you are right. They can actually be pretty good if they are cooked right. Cheers!

I'm not sure I've mentioned it before, but I love your videos. I'm pretty jealous. My now 6 year old daughter and I have done some exploring around Eastern Oregon, but you've definitely got us beat. A couple notes on this video; first, I've found that the bags on the Backpackers Pantry stuff are quite weak. Most of what I've bought haven't lasted in the back of my rig without wearing through. Second, yes, there are scorpions out there. Nothing with venom toxicity worth worrying about, but they are out there. Maybe sometime we could join you and show you were to find the bugs (ps, they're tasty if you're into crunchy foods!).

@CoyoteWorks01
@CoyoteWorks01 6 жыл бұрын
I find that it does hold heat better than a single wall tent for sure. But when it gets down below freezing any tent is just going to be cold. But the thing I notice about my tri layer is that it does stay a bit warmer in there with just my body heat and the pilot light on my heater. It is an improvement. But at the end of the day it is still just a tent. Keep me posted on how yours works for you. So far I”m happy with mine.

@CoyoteWorks01
@CoyoteWorks01 6 жыл бұрын
I think you are way over thinking the whole firearms thing my friend. We show our guns because we enjoy them. The same way a guy who likes nice audio video equipment shows his friends at a party. The same way a guy who is proud of his sports car wants people to see it. It’s no different for those of us who enjoy owning and using firearms. Why when it comes to firearms do all you people insist on attaching some deeper sinister conspiracy to it. It’s like you are just determined to think of those of us who own guns as some kind of lesser humans or something. On another note, you will never be able to understand the culture out in the area where I live in the west. We live in a very underpopulated area with a lot of wide open country. Most of our area doesn’t have police to protect you or emergency services to come rescue you when you have a problem. Our area is an area of remote ranchers and a small handful of explorers like me traveling through. There is nothing wrong or out of the ordinary about having a gun out in the back country here. Most everyone who live here does. Then you people come here who have no understanding of our culture and try to judge us by your culture and background. And you wonder why people in my area are suspicious of outsiders. How about you practice a little compassion and understanding for a culture that is different than yours? How about you seek to understand a people who are different rather than expecting everyone to adopt your culture, customs, and standards. I don’t judge you because you don’t enjoy guns. Why are you judging me because I do?

@John A You think that several million people, armed to the teeth, couldn't overthrow the government? I beg to differ. The military won't help, as many will not fight their own people; as a matter of fact, most of the military would likely join or sabotage from the inside. They can't use nukes, as the rest of the world would then step in and help the rebels. Historically, about 10%-20% of the population actively participates in a revolution. In the US, that's between 35,000,000 and 70,000,000 people. And we own 101 guns per 100 people on average here, so any rebellion would be armed to the teeth. If you think that 70 million armed people can't take down the government, then I suggest you read up on your history a bit.

@@frankbrown9618 Please don't hate on the U.S. because the international community can't control the social monstrosity they are. A good share of EU countries are in economical collapse or already failed now demanding financial support. They've done this themselve with their social mechanics. There becomes a time you just got to say no.

@@jbhk7977 You missed the point of my response, the US didn't cause or make other countries fail any more than junk food is causing major problems for the international community as Mr. Brown has interjected. And from my reading on this comment section your original comment was what started the backlash. You were condescending and rude to Mr. Coyote for doing what he has the right to do under our Constitution, then continued with mocking everone else for having or exposing guns in a way you don't approve of when overlanding or apparently anything else. I'm a nurse that works third shift, I drive over 100 miles in the dark for this in desolate country and I carry my G19 and my AR. There is no help unless it happens to drive by when you need help this includes law enforcement. On top of that I'm not going to be a victim of rape. When you say thing like this their going to attack. You also make mention of our debt, your right it huge and complicated. Let me pose this question, you said in one comment, one good deed doesn't justify all the bad ones? Of course not. Why do you think it was just one? Do you know how much money the US has sent to various countries, including yours to help with getting you up and running after the devastation of hitler or how much money has been sent to European countries since then to now? Or the amounts in food and supplies that the Us send in ships when there are natural disaster to help anywhere on the Earth. I guess what I'm saying we the people send freely trillions of dollars everwhere to countries in need, most of us don't complain and it's been done since before WW1. Would you know how may trillions that might be? I surely don't know? But I would think it's a staggering number and many many times more than the 22 trillion were getting close to. And no this isn't a blame are debt on the world. We give a lot and everone complains and blames why? If you're hostility towards people when you start it are a reflection of your country and the people? That's sad and I'm sorry for you.

To fix your tailgate rattle...adjust the black guide on the door. Then wrap some electric tape around the D latch on the jam. That will remove slack and quiet that thing down. Nice video.

Another great episode KC, I was thinking, I loved to watch you cook those camp meals from scratch... a suggestion... you should write a cookbook of camp meals you can make on the trail and put it on Kindle/ Amazon to download, I think it would be a great edition to the already great things you’ve done. God bless. Looking forward to the next adventure!!!!

One of the most frustrating periods of my life was when I was hired to find 5 bunkers that were supposed to have been built on a defunct isolationist church's 170 acre property; ... found one but couldn't find any clue to any of the others (and last I heard no more have been found several years later). Good video (and decent memories to be honest, lol).

Hey Casey cool vid. I found a similar bunker near Glass Butte about 10 years ago. It was very similar with the same interior set up but less deteriorated with a big old heavy metal door. I love that country.

Another great video Casey. You have some really nice country out there. I need to take a trip out that way. I always carry a Glock 19 as my EDC. When I’m in the mountains of Maine and New Hampshire, I usually carry a .357 Magnum Ruger Revolver. Thanks again for sharing your trips.

Coyote Works I do keep a basic survival pack in my Subaru Outback with gear that includes fire starter, tarp, water purification, knife, warm clothes, energy bars, paracord, compass and basic kit to allow me to survive if stranded or forced to hike out. I have both summer and winter gear that is swapped out depending on the season. I can camp out of my Outback and do a lot of road trips for both work and pleasure. Basically, I want to be as self-sufficient as possible. I have learned a lot from your videos on preparedness.
