Meticulous work, especially enjoy the precise sawing, and the saw itself, in this case it really is 'measure twice, cut once', a fun idea and pure class, thank you for letting us in your workshop!

@@turksandjerps I did and was very well done with Josh and his camera work! I commented on his channel saying why haven't I seen this? I had a feeling it was you. I work way too much to follow everyone and really miss the old days of rccrawler forums. Hope that Betty is doing well

Is this the one that ended up on Scale Builders Guild channel or did he build another one? I've seen the real life full size 6x6 XJ in the wild, was pretty damn cool, and looked like the one you just built
@turksandjerps Жыл бұрын
I built this body for Scale Builder’s Guild. It is the one he painted orange.

@@turksandjerps I sent him a picture of the full size version I seen lol. Apparently 2 exist in full size. You did amazing work on that body too. I wish I was half as good as you are lol

Good job on the build. Was wondering if you do special request for a fee of course?

I love these build-them-up-and-sand-them-down styrene builds so much more than the more recent 3d printing dominated body mods. Any reason you're using MEK-substitute instead of the real mccoy? I recently moved out of California and bought myself a gallon of the real stuff the other day to tackle my shoddy styrene modeling.

It’s what’s readily available around me and it works so...its what I use

Amazing work!!! How did you create a seamless line between the two half’s? Is it just glue and sanding?
@turksandjerps4 жыл бұрын
Yep, glue and sanding and having a nice tight fit also helps

Would you share with us which iteration of the XJ body you used here? There are a handful available in different places and was wondering where you got yours....thanks and great work.
@turksandjerps4 жыл бұрын
I think this would be the Team Raffee? Not the Injora. I got it from JS Scale.
@Blackjack8289_4 жыл бұрын
Awesome build! What do you use for adhesives?
@turksandjerps4 жыл бұрын
MEK Substitute is used to bond the pieces.
@rcmike094 жыл бұрын
Was that mek substitute you used with the clippings? Does that just make like a glue puddy??
@turksandjerps4 жыл бұрын
Correct and correct. It makes a filler with the same properties as the body for a strong and seamless joint.
@ivadavis4 жыл бұрын
hi! what is this brown dough to join ?
@turksandjerps4 жыл бұрын
Brown dough? The red paste is body filler to fill small gaps. Not used as an adhesive.
@ivadavis4 жыл бұрын
@@turksandjerps OK, thanks ! what is the brand of this dough?
@turksandjerps4 жыл бұрын
ivadavis The brand is Bondo. It’s called glazing and spot putty.

@@turksandjerps ha thank you, I'll get that! ; ) good continuation for the construction of this 6x6
