Just helping out. Next time you want to remove double sided tape. Used a thin piece of rope. Tuck it under and with back and forth motion you can cut the tape underneath like a flex saw.

I seem to remember some guy telling you that you would be heading to a junkyard to hunt down inner fenders and a bumper and fender flares after you hacked up the originals. Oh wait, that was me. LOL

Ha! You're right! To be fair, you said it would be because my fog lights would stop working and I would have "electrical problems". None of that has happened. I just don't like the way it looks. I'm still cutting the new bumper, just not as aggressively. Thanks for watching!

@@ExtremeDailyDrivers LOL. In my experience it's not the lights quitting that you have to worry about, they are easy enough to troubleshoot and repair. It's what the water intrusion does to the wiring behind the inner fenders that causes problems, mostly inside the cabin and they are a real bugger to track down when things electrical start going weird around the fuse box on the left side of the dashboard. The inner fenders are very important in stopping water from getting in there.

@@dagger4146I didn't expose that area. The fender liners were still installed, just trimmed. The only wiring that was exposed was to the lighting. I'm am fully aware the Commanders wiring issues and wouldn't put them in jeopardy. You look at this thing wrong and things stop working. 🤣

@@ExtremeDailyDrivers I am just speaking from experience. When the starter went out in my Hemi Commander I had to pull the inner fender to get it out. Didn't have enough poly rivets to finish reinstalling and left the front of the inner fender hanging (big mistake) and it took nearly a month to dry everything out after driving through a partially flooded street after a rain storm. The open front of the inner fender worked like a scoop !

What tools do you take to the junk yard? Even though I bought a Gladiator, you’ve inspired me to fix up my 2006 Commander (Hemi). Love it and won’t give it up…200k miles.

That's a great question! My first "real" KZbin video was a junkyard run and what to bring. I bring a bucket filled with mostly sockets, wrenches and pliers. It depends what I'm after. Check that first video out and thanks for watching!

Hey, I really enjoy your Commander videos. I have an 07’ 3.7L Commander w/ 195,000 miles on it. Have you ever gotten the “Transmission Overtemp” message” on the info center and refuses to start? I’m constantly getting it. I have to turn the steering wheel back and forth rigorously while turning the key to get it to start 5 times out of 10. It’s a big pain in the ass. I haven’t been able to find a fix for it… Keep making Commander videos!

Re threshold plates removal: Try a commercial spray adhesive removal product? Denatured alcohol could work too. To remove a hand sanitizer really stuck on a wall once with commercial double stick tape , I used dental floss. Worked it back and forth like a saw in between the wall and the item and off it came.
