According to reports, Jeep has unveiled the Jeep Compass E-Hybrid, an eco-friendly car that will go on sale in Europe.
In this instance, Jeep plans to concentrate by the end of the year on a number of European nations, including Belgium, Germany, France, Portugal, the Netherlands, and the Nordic nations.
Both versions include a new 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that generates 130 horsepower (97 kW / 132 PS) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque, according to a Friday CarsCoops quote.
With a high compression ratio of 12.5:1, a high-pressure direct injection system that can run up to 350 rods, and the Miller cycle, the engine has been "designed to be the most suitable for hybrid use," according to the OEM.
The engine has a belt starting generator installed, according to the firm, to "guarantee a quick and quiet transition during restart."
The engine generates 20 horsepower (15 kW / 20 PS) and 41 lb-ft (55 Nm) of torque when paired with an electric motor, a regenerative braking system, and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The motor can move the car at slow speeds, as those in stop-and-go traffic, even if it is not very powerful. The major news is that the e-Hybrid helps lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 15%. The engine also features an e-boost function.
Jeep will introduce a limited-edition Upland edition with eco-friendly paint and finishes, as well as sustainable materials, to showcase the new models.
Specifically, they have a gloss black finish on their 17 or 18-inch alloy wheels and a special Matter Azur exterior with a black roof. MetaKrome bronze highlights and hood decals complete the look.
Once inside the cabin, purchasers will discover premium SEAQUAL seats composed of plastic imported from the Mediterranean region. They have organic vinyl inlays, contrast stitching, and a Jeep emblem on the backrest.
There will be Longitude, Night Eagle, Limited, and S trims in addition to the special edition. There is a major catch: the vehicles will be available in markets than the ones listed above, but they will only come with front-wheel drive
