Finally got the Centerforce Dual Friction clutch installed and the 500 mile break in period done. 5.13 gears ⚙️ in both hill tests - only real difference is the clutch … I share some install pics, first impressions and part 2 of the hill test now with the Centerforce Clutch. Do you think it will make it? Thanks to Mike at Keystone 4x4 for the install work at a reasonable price - check them out www.keystone4x4.com
Thanks again to Centerforce for putting up with my constant questions and pestering them to get this early production clutch. Coming in early 2022 - www.centerforce.com

I'm sold. I'm not a fan of doing this as I just got the thing and have stalled a few times. I've driven manuals before and have never stalled a vehicle so many times it's kinda crazy.

The stock clutch is pretty weak and you have to give it a lot of gas to get going. The Centerforce clutch is a game changer! So easy to get going. Thanks for watching and if you haven’t already, please subscribe. Thanks

I have a question. It appears pretty obvious that your speed is slower in this video compared to the before test. My question is were your gears also changed to 5:13's after the first video was made? If so it means this test doesn't really represent an improvement solely from the clutch, the gearing would have a much larger impact. Just wanting to understand because I also have a MT gladiator and have been considering a clutch upgrade because I tow often and have concerns based on the OEM design.
@JTRSpartacus
@JTRSpartacus 2 жыл бұрын
Same, 5.13 gears. Not sure it was that much difference in person but it definitely looks faster in the before video. The key is that it still stalled - even if it was running more rpms (maybe lighter flywheel turned faster? ). I think the heavier flywheel and grippier clutch helps and it’s noticeable every day at stop lights and especially when backing. So much easier with the new Centerforce clutch. The test in 2nd gear seems to confirm the better hill climbing ability from this setup. I highly recommend this setup for towing and off road. Good luck!

Thanks for the video. Definitely going to look more into this. Glad it's not just me who has issues with the stock clutch. Have you noticed any improvement on engaging 1st or 2nd gear after making a slow turn? I tend to get some jerk while releasing the clutch with stock.
@JTRSpartacus
@JTRSpartacus Жыл бұрын
Definitely improved. Some of that could be variable valve timing too… however Heavier flywheel smooths out the touchiness/jerkiness. Shifts aren’t any faster or anything - no worse either. It just goes better. Highly recommend CF clutch kit. Thanks for watching! #JTRSPARTACUS

What did the centerforce clutch upgrade cost you parts and installation? This is my next upgrade ('20 JL Wrangler Rubicon, 5.13 gears and 37'' tires).
@JTRSpartacus
@JTRSpartacus Жыл бұрын
It was about $1900 ($1200 for clutch and flywheel and $600 for labor, the other $100 for fluids, shop supplies etc ) but prices have gone up a few hundred dollars on the kit which now comes with improved hydraulics. My labor price was very reasonable at Keystone 4x4 - $100/hr and it took 6 hours. I’m guessing since we have crazy inflation that may have gone up too. Good luck! You will love it! #JTRSPARTACUS

Hello Brian I watch your video about the centerforce clutch and I will like to ask you if you have any issue so far with the new clutch , I reach centerforce to have one for my 2022 JT rubicon but they don’t have anything right now and until July that said, let me know if The clutch is good to wait for it , thanks

Thanks for watching and reaching out. Zero issues with the clutch. Works great. Hands down the best mod to my Jeep. Its expensive but it is something you literally use every time you drive. Its so much better on the road, off-road, and when towing. The only "con" is that the pedal effort is increased - not a big deal but it was noticeable at first. now I don't even notice it. #JTRSPARTACUS

@JTRSpartacus
@JTRSpartacus Жыл бұрын
@@nickritz4740 it ended up ust under $2,000. The clutch and flywheel kit costed about $1400 and labor was $600. Pricey …but totally worth it - it’s something you use every time you drive. It’s better than stick at towing, backing, offroad, at stop lights, on hills, etc. really the only small “negative” is increased pedal effort - I don’t even notice anymore. thanks for watching! #JTRSPARTACUS

Got a new Mohave JT M/T last month and have about 1100 miles on the odometer so far. My only issue is starting from neutral to 1st. I either risk stalling it with my normal muscle memory with releasing the clutch and slight gas or I slip the clutch at 2k rpm to take off if the traffic stop is on an incline. Would this Centerforce clutch solve this issue of smoother take off from full stop without revving too much? 1-1.5k rpm would be ideal for initial take off in 1st gear. I also see two different CF clutch systems on CF website. One of them is dual friction one which I see from the title of this video is what you have?
@JTRSpartacus
@JTRSpartacus Жыл бұрын
I have the Centerforce dual friction clutch kit. It’s a more aggressively be, grippier clutch. The only down side is slightly more clutch pedal effort. I don’t even notice anymore. The Centerforce clutch is so much easier to take off - the grippy clutch and heavy flywheel along with the lower clutch engagement point really help to drive this vehicle! Good luck and welcome to the obsession OlllllllO!!! #JTRSPARTACUS
