I've been using Pennzoil Platinum 0w-20 in my Jeeps. I'm on Jeep #3 now. Went from 2016 Cherokee Limited to 2019 Grand Cherokee Limited to now a 2024 JL Rubicon. I'm going to try the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum in my next oil change. I also use the Mopar MO-349 filter since I'm still under warranty. Cheers!

Great job. The Gladiator is one of the easiest oil changes I have ever done.

I wasn’t a fan of the cartridge filter at first but yes it makes things so much easier and less messy for sure… thanks for watching!!🤙

I have a '21 gladiator and love it. I use Castrol 0-20 full synthetic and k&n filter. I have had a jeep of some type for the past 15 years and loved them all but my gladiator is my all-time fav. Thanks for the video.

You are very welcome! I as well absolutely LOVE my Gladiator and like you have owned many jeeps over the years and this is by far my favorite… we are currently a full MOPAR family!!

For those using metric sockets, a 24mm socket and a 13mm socket can be used interchangeably if you don’t have the SAE sizes mentioned in the video.

Not a 5/16th for the oil filter...

I had to use a 13mm for the oil drain pan.

Yes, 13mm or 1/2” basically the same just the difference between metric and standard… thanks for watching!!

was that o ring good i think it goes on very last groove
@jlautomotive63495 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching, it goes on that bigger grove that I put it on. You can see once the o-ring is on it fills that void…

Would be great to know the size of the sockets used and the direction you loosened the pan bolt because of those previous idiot mechanics that used power tools to tighten it so tight it doesn't want to give.
@jlautomotive63492 ай бұрын
In the first minute I show all the sockets needed… as for your drain pan bolt if you can’t get it off you’ll need to replace the pan as you don’t want to play the game of is it sealed… never use power tools doing an oil change. Almost all of my videos I use hand tools as that’s what most DIYers have at home. Thanks for watching!!

Anyone experiencing the death wobble in your Gladiator? When the steering shudders violently? It’s fairly common. What was your solution?
@jlautomotive634915 күн бұрын
Fixing death wobble: 1. Check trackbar bolts 2. Check drag link ends. 3. Check tie rod ends. 4. Check ball joints 5. Check steering box 6. Check unit bearing 7. Check tire weight balance 8. Check shocks 9: Check tire pressure 12: STEERING STABILIZERS DO NOT FIX DEATH WOBBLE!!!!

What is the exact amount of oil
@jlautomotive6349Ай бұрын
The owner’s manual calls for 5.9 quarts… What I usually do is drain the oil and while it draining I change out the oil filter and check/fill all the fluids up top and tire pressure check/add if needed… I usually buy a 5 quart jug and a quart… now I will start with about 4.5 quarts from the 5 quart jug, button everything up and start the engine, check for oil pressure then shut it down and recheck after about 10 minutes… I usually have to add a little more but very rarely do I add more than 5 quarts… if you let it drain for say a half hour you maybe closer to 5.2 quarts but it will never take the nearly 6 quarts the manual calls for… it’s easier to add a little vs having to drain some out which I have had to do… hope this helps? Just take your time!! Thanks for watching!!
