This video saved me. We put off fixing it for a long time because it was usually only an issue for a short period due to our normal driving. However, the week before we were to leave on a 1600 mile (one way) trip I realized I had to get it fixed for our sanity. I put electrical tape on it and it held the entire time and is still holding perfectly. Of note- this was a week long trip to Florida where it was 85-95 daily and now sitting in 90+ degrees all this week while back home.

And it’s cheaper too. 👍 I guarantee you, it will happen again. But now you know how to fix it. 😉

I had the same problem with my 2011 Dodge Durango and this fix worked very well but it's not a permenant fix as you'll have to replace the tape as it weathers! I'll eventually replace the cowl. Thanks Emil for a great video.

My 2017 had the same problem. Took the cowl off. Hardest part is removing the windshield wipers. (use a small pulley puller) Once off replace the weather striping under there. ( $12 for a 12 foot strip at the parts store). Pull all the old stuff off and clean the cowl. The weather striping has a peel and stick adhesive but I used a trim adhesive as well. Let it sit over night, put it back on the next day. Problem solved.

Wow, it’s getting expensive. Stick with using the tape for $20.
