This Jeep was the reason I bought my WK2! Two years, big lift, 33" tires, RTT, winch, and a few other goodies later and it looks pretty similar!

Get that rooftop tent, the panoramic sunroof and fold down the back seats. Just poke a hole through the bottom of the tent and it would be like a 2 story camper.

JULEPPS I do agree.I think all the glit and glimmer on the new GC's with all those bells and whistles are what I call "city truck" like those Ford Platinum Trucks.I like function without all the "bells and whistles" really shows how well a driver does.Anyone can drive a vehicle with assisted this and that,traction control and all that.But that's just me.One thing I can say is Jeep really did a great job on that body.This is the sexiest Jeep ever built.

Nice looking vehicles, but what steered me away is Consumer Reports Predicted Reliability studies. Jeep fell 4 spots from 2014 down to second last, placing 27th out of 28. I want a vehicle I know will be reliable and with a proven track record. This is why I went with the 2014 Toyota 4Runner!

Didn't hear one intelligible statement in the whole video. Jeep needs to fire that designer. And I thought the Wrangler Africa was bad... Air suspension on an overland vehicle? Bad idea. He didn't know what size tires he had, admitted to putting fake winches on Jeeps, ugh! Those branch risers weren't even tight, let alone the location of the attachment points. And don't get me started on the Renegade! I weep for the future of Jeep! Fiat garbage!
@20DYNAMITE06
@20DYNAMITE06 8 жыл бұрын
+UndergroundTrev While I'm not a fan of the air suspension, and agreed he should have known the tire size... everything else you've critiqued is the opposite of what was said in the video. The winch is real and works, and the limb risers were loose because the clamshell of the RTT was open. When it closes, they were taut again (the attachment points may have been improved though)Totally agree with you on the Renegade-Though you are INSANE if you don't like that Jeep Africa concept. That's a vehicle I would actually buy (diesel or gas). ;)

I honestly hate the way Jeep thinks it's cute to make all these concepts without even putting them into production. I know they need to test the prototypes but think of how much money they waste making all these vehicles, as well as tease the jeep fan base with amazing and practical vehicles, only to lock them back up in a garage somewhere never to be driven again. pathetic.

@NordicNevs
@NordicNevs 9 жыл бұрын
Well being a diesel its interval is slightly longer. That being said I am an auto nut and the standard oil change is a little elementary for longevity. I worry about the emission DEF/DPF systems, computer systems as well as well as general things. I totally agree that its important to change your oil, my overall worry is what was stated above. Thanks for the comment Bailey O.
@xMuShAdDx
@xMuShAdDx 9 жыл бұрын
C Nevs Why did you buy a vehicle you don't have confidence in? Hopefully, if you truly feel that way, you at least purchased the extended warranty, if you plan on keeping it that long. Also, the oil change interval is about everything 10k miles, depending on driving style/conditions.
@NordicNevs
@NordicNevs 9 жыл бұрын
Well let me put this into perspective. I do NOT trust our jeep ecodiesel to the extent i trust my HD diesel truck. That being said I don't completely distrust it. I bought it with the "first jeep nostalgia" all over it. After that I have started to hear some things about the ecodiesels and have personally had a number of recalls (minor yes but still makes you worry what else is to come). Will I sell it because of it, no of course not but I was a little more hopeful that it would not be this problematic is all.
@xMuShAdDx
@xMuShAdDx 9 жыл бұрын
Well, I hope you're wrong :) I have a ecodiesel too. I'm not as worried about the ecodiesel because it has been in production in europe for several years. I worry more about all the fancy electronics (ACC, sensors, cameras, buttons...anything that moves!) My ACC camera was already replaced under warranty. $1800

The 285/65 18's on this Jeep are 32.6 inches. They're not that tall but wow they're wide for this little Jeep 11 inches!! Was the air suspension bouncy at all off road? I've found the steel setup offers better body control off road, maybe thats just my opinion.

I think some of you fail to realize this video was from an event for media people to drive a Jeep. The intent of such an event is not to demonstrate the absolute limits of the product. These events are intended to provide a safe 4x4 demonstration for drivers who may have little or no experience with off road driving. Anyone who thinks a Grand Cherokee is not a serious offroader, I ask you this. What other vehicle in its class is better off road, safer, and more luxurious? No other American made SUV is nearly as capable. The only real serious SUV competition it has, that I can think of, are Mercedes and Range Rover.

I love the vehicle, That's the motor and gearbox I want for my 07 JKU diesel! I'm just about to spend $18000 Aus dollars fixing the fuel system in my Wrangler which is only the 2.8ltr diesel that they came with. Mine had a leak in the fuel system and I went through mud and my water in fuel sensor didn't go off. So I blew the fuel filter, High pressure injection pump and the first mechanic damaged the fuel lines from the common rail to the injectors and blew the common rail sensors. It's been off the road for 6 months in total while Jeep Australia ( I won't mention the dealership) try to fix it. Also, I just want to add it spent the first 4 months off road at a so called jeep specialist repairer who couldn't fix it then 2 months at a Jeep dealership who are still trying to get parts and fix it. Again, I love diesels and Jeep make very good vehicles, but the after sales support is so bad around here that I may not buy another Jeep, even if they release the new JK with 3.0ltr diesel.

The current generation of Grand Cherokees tend to have issues with creaking control arms. Our Grand Cherokee has some creaking control arms from doing harder turns, or going over bumps, but I stopped most the creaking by just spraying all the control arms with white lithium grease. It still makes a little creaking because I didn't spray enough grease. I may apply more this weekend...

I'm just trying to understand why you guys ''accepted'' to do a 52 week jeep sponsored roadtrip. For your subscribers? I don't think so as you didn't ask them if they would like to see it. I think it's a great idea that both the TFL team and their fans are going to have a lot of fun with. As far as the sponsorship goes, I'd be surprised if that covered more than use of the Jeep and basic travel expenses. If you think there's a lot of money in journalism, then you've clearly never worked in the field. It's something you're born to do and done for the love of telling a story. Sharing information and being part of the community is the reward. Even if that is an online community, it counts. Have a little faith in these guys. They're trying to provide something good to us for free. Complain when you have to pay for it.

Jonathan Scherer You're wrong. If they were sure they wouldn't make as much money as they do now, they would have never done it. I'm predicting that when they're done doing this roadtrip, they're going to regret what they did. If they regret Prague to Pebble they're going to regret this 19351851519 times as much, I swear. Doing a 50 state roadtrip is a lot of fun, sure. But that's not what The Fast Lane Car is about. TFLC is about car reviews. That's it. Not some vacation paid-for-by jeep. Does that make sense?

It's a terrific idea! IDK. Why are you upset? They did something like this with a Tatra last year. They did a cross country run in an old Buick. They did several videos in China, India and all over Europe. I doubt Jeep solicited them with this idea. TFL comes up with lots of fun idea as without stealing from others. Why even comment about it on this video? Why not make your case known on their Monday Jeep video? It's like you have it in for them for some reason.

Fake appellation Sorry you disapprove. This is something I wanted to do. This is something Roman wanted to do. It was our idea. ***** Toyota painted the roof of the FJ Cruiser white to help keep the inside of the cabin cooler. So Jeep is painting the cover of the engine bay, the color black...is this because hotter temperatures are better for the engine? This is why I am asking that question. It seems really asinine to paint that part of the automobile black. Is this just another example of form over function? Which seems to be running amuck these days.

The hood is matt black because it doesn't reflect the glare of the sun. The diesel works well off road because all of the tq is at a low rpm and makes going over obstacles easier and more controllable.

Hey guys , I kindly need a little bit of help !! In the next year or two , I will be buying my first car and I would like it to last atleast 7-8 years .. I narrowed down to these stick shift cars ( I like sporty looking cars ) : 2014 Mazada 3 2.5L , 10-13 Infiniti G37s coupe , 13 Hyundai genesis coupe turbo , 13-14 Mustang V6 , 13 Acura TSX & 13 Golf GTI . I actually favor factors like "Fun to drive" and reliability but still take in consideration fuel economy ( reasonable ) . Can someone help me out or so give me your opinion and even suggest me some stuff? Thank you very much & BTW , Nice video like always :)

Kevin Medeiros Of those cars I'd go with the G37.

Kevin Medeiros Yes in fact considering that many of the cars that you've mentioned are sort of upscale I'd suggest getting a regular fun to drive car with a stick that's fun to drive. Next year there's an all new Honda Civic due to come out and if you buy the EX model new with leather new you can't really go wrong. Not only that but it will be warranted and you can raise it from a pup knowing that no one else has abused it. Break it in gently, maintain it well and it will last you for many years if not a decade and a half. Honda's are great with stick shifts and their engine technology makes them feel allot like motorcycles. An SI would bring the price up allot and that would probably not be a great deal for a first time buyer but an EX is still a fun car to drive. The cost of upkeep would be less than the other cars that you'd mentioned, the reliability is better than almost all the others and only equaled by the TSX and the fuel economy would be the best of them all. All in all a good start in life. Best of luck to you.

I completely understand and thank you very much for helping me out but honestly I don't like Civics & it almost feels like everyone owes one ! Iv'e heard about the Accord Coupe , Good deal ? & I do really like the TSX model seems so sexy and sporty, also a good deal? And yess, I like myself a little upscaled stuff that I'm also ready to pay ;)

Kevin Medeiros Yes a TSX is a very nice car though it's been replaced by the TLX and both that and the ILX are only available with either automatics or in the case of the ILX a dual clutch with paddle shifters if you should decide to go with a new car as opposed to a "previously traveled" model and both only come in four door models. Accord coupes are great also however the manual transmission is available when buying in this current generation on the LX and EX coupes with cloth interiors in the four cylinder cars and only on the EX-L ( Leather Interior) on the six cylinder model. Though the Accord also suffers from the same popularity as the Civic the two door coupe is much less commonplace so you wouldn't be passing yourself as often. Yes the Accord is an excellent deal and has an very high resale value. My brother in-law is driving his Accord for 17 years now and since it hasn't given him a day's trouble he says that if it never does it will be his last car. He becomes very attached to his things. Every few years he buys new burners for his gas grill instead of getting a new one because he likes it so much. Buy the way I saw your picture and congratulations on your graduation. All the best of luck to you in your future and career. If I can think of any other models I'll let you know although I think that the Accord Coupe is probably the best buy of the crop for the long run. If think of any others and have any questions feel free to ask me. All my best to you.

I've Googled and have done tons research nowhere to be found. But I did find them at GG lighting BUT DON'T BUY from them. They will take your money and not send them. They have a very bad reputation of doing that. I've been dealing with it over a month now no money back no product.
