I can't thank you enough for this excellent video! Taking your time to show how to remove all the clips is just the kind of thing we inexperienced DIY'ers need to avoid us pulling our hair out. The whole process is just wonderfully explained.

And I see why someone broken the studs off the throttle body. On the long brackets the fron one was easy enough but the back appears to have a press on nut to hold an AC bracket totally preventing access to the lower nut to loosen it. To the engineer who designed this, I salute you 🖕

Thank you so much, Dannie! This was a great video, along with the wiper cowling. I took a chance doing this repair myself! While I felt prepared and definitely got great tips here, it was a tough job. Tip for others - make sure you have the oil and fluid temperature sensors in your housing! I ordered from Mopar and didn’t realize they were missing until I ripped the old one out 😅 managed to get the needed parts and get the job done. Took us about 8 hours all in, but worth the experience and money saved at the stealership! Thank you mate, thank you!!

Loved the video, couldn’t have done this job without it. Just my two cents though, removing the wiper cowl is not necessary. Yes it will significantly help in the removal of some bolts and hoses but you can get it done without removing it. A small 1/4 inch ratchet with variable size extensions was really all I needed. Some of those Christmas trees were a pain and most of them broke. Other than that I think the average DIYer is going to save a significant amount of time by not removing the wiper cowl. Awesome video though, thanks!

On a scale from 1-10 for difficulty changing this, 10 being the toughest? Also, how long can I put this off if I just noticed it leaking oil? Doesn’t seem like I’m losing that much according to the dip stick.

They do fail in the diesels. They are located mounted on the side of the engine under the air intake. Not to hard to change. When these fail they fill the cooling system with oil rather than leak externally

Quick question, my jeep has oil leak going into the radiator and cooling reservoir. It has a brownish sticky color. There is no sign of being in my oil tank. I’ve checked the dip stuck and it has its original color. Could replacing the oil cooler be the solution or is it the head gaskets? Thank you in advance!
@GDLautoblog

these engine do blow head gaskets. Do a TK test first. If the TK test reveals nothing i would do a cooler first, if fault continues you may need to pull the heads

air lock in the cooling system. make sure you have bleed the air out properly. if it overheated prior to replacing it there is a possibility you have done cylinder head or head gasket damage. Bleed the air out first, if its still cooking, do a TK test

This old one is definitely an aftermarket and it didnt last. However I disagree with the OEM replacements as they have been through 5 revisions and will probably have a 6th, why? Plastic. Given the OEM is still plastic I'm going to risk it and use an aluminum aftermarket one. I do appreciate your efforts though as you made this a LOT less intensive then the last video I watched of someone doing it. Now to find the video of removing the wiper cowl.
