Took 2018 JRltd to Walmart Auto Center, bought bulb and provided it to them. Waited 45 minutes to learn "mechanic" couldn't get access. Took it home, watched your video, followed it carefully and precisely, did the job myself in 20 minutes. How many Walmart mechanics does it take to change a bulb? None. This seems to be a common thing and AT LEAST the 2016 Jeep Renegade. I have a Trailhawk as well, and it seems to be an exhaust chamber bladder thing. I looked it up and it goes directly above where you saw it. You stick it in and twist it and that’s how it stays on, but it’s pretty loosey-goosey and, I was thinking maybe a clamp or something would help keep it on. You have to look up in there, but you’ll see where it goes.

Just want to say thank you and leave a few words about my experience that may help others. I have a 2015 Jeep Renegade Limited. I have never done such a thing! But with the help of your suggetions and the Good Lord managed! Im sick an tired of paying labor fees for a part that cost a few bucks. It all started with my sun visors, now replaced and complete. Back to the DRL On my jeep I noticed blue round circle stickers, that mark the area of the turn signal bulb and DRL. The passerger side was a bit harder to see and get to, even with my small hand inside. And that bladder? I now know what that sounds is as Im driving! (Gonna figure this out too) Also my turn signal was random at flashing warnings, that it was out...I found this bulb was loose. And than it popped off and went into the light housing! I borrowed my brother in laws, flex cable pick up tool that retrieve it back and the turn signal bulb is now replaced and working properly! Next is the rubber seal in the My Sky Sunroof!

Thanks! Great video & helped me with this today. One thing though, those plastic screws suck and were a huge pain to remove. The plastic is so soft it won't bite and unscrew out and just turns & strips. Finally had to slowly loosen both screws using pliers carefully. Other than that easy fix

Had same issue with plastic screws...heated up my Phillips tip...seated into screw and let it melt then cool it with a cold water rag...made the bite better with the screw!!

Came here to say this too. For me the Phillips screws just spun in place inside the plastic clips, so I used a pair of needle nosed pliers to turn and give it some outward movement and that did the trick.

Drives me crazy that my 2019 model was full of halogen bulbs instead of LEDs. Thanks for this vid, it showed me that it would be easy to pop the old bulbs out. All of the other exterior bulbs have been easy so far. Some of the interior bulbs have been a real pain.

That is the fog lights. I replaced it with the halogen. Didn’t upgrade those yet.

Great video. this video shows inside how to screw and replace the bulb. One thing I want to share is the screw is easily worn out. Jeep used low cost screw it’s easily worn out. Be careful when you’re unscrew.

Thank you! I have a 2016 Renegade too, made in 2015. The screws go into an expanding mount, like used in drywall, and come off with the plate. You don’t have to unscrew them all the way to pop the plate off. I had to get a flathead under the screw head to get them stared coming out. I peeked through a convenient hole in the wheel well to see everything. Thank you again! 👍🏼 Did you figure out what that reservoir/bladder was for?

ok, an update... I am having the toughest time accessing the bulb. I have a bad knee, and can't get down very far, so when I stick my hand inside the access panel opening, I can only reach the fog light bulb. I'm thinking I have to unscrew and pry back a bit of the wheel well liner to get to the DRL, or is that too much trouble? Taking the tire off seems over the top, I think.

It would be easier to take the liner off when the wheel is removed. Turning the wheel inward might help some.

On Passenger side, it was backwards... clockwise 1/8 to remove and counterclockwise to install. Drivers side was the other way: normal, like a bolt- ya know- lefty loosey & righty tighty! This is true for both blinker and DRL socket. PS... old man wisdom... change both L&R at the same time- they are the same age and manufacturing lot so the other one will blow soon!

You should be able to push it on and twist. Some force is needed but make sure the pins are facing the right way.

Mine would not screw out counterclockwise, so rage boy visited and the class broke off lol. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get the base of metal out.

To catch water or moisture coming into the intake before air cleaner. I removed mine and discarded it. That way the bladder has no chance of filling up.

HI. Maybe yo can give me advise. I have 2016 Jeep renegade Trailhawk. But i cant figure out how to turn on auto headlights. I turned the switcher in "auto" position. But its just turn on headlights. Even if its sunny outside. And on my dashboard doesnt lights green "headlights" indicator. Only parking lights (green) and high beam (blue ) indicators. In manual mode green headlights indicator doesnt lights up too... Sorry for my terrible english. I am from Ukraine)) But i hope you will understand me

I picked up a new housing, but am struggling trying to figure out the best method to access the mounting screws without removing the entire bumper cover. Have any tips for me? Thanks!

Check your service manual to clear the code. If that doesn’t work disconnect the battery few 10 min and see if that resets it.

@@WickedFabz It fixed itself. I drove around with it on for about a day (maybe an hour of total drive time) and it went off. I did manage to drop one of the bulbs inside the plastic housing. I can't reach it to get it out. I guess I'll keep that one there for a spare for later. Thanks for the reply. :)

No you don’t have to. Turn the wheel to the inside and you should be able to do it.

Led bulbs for those need a built in canbus to work properly. Mine are not led but the side markers are.

If they are led try a half turn and re insert it. Led a have reverse polarity. Try with the Jeep tuning and see if it clears the code.

Man on my 2016 Trailhawk I went to the dealer the other day hoping to just have this done but now they say I need the entire assembly because the current one is fried. My turn signal light was still working but when they went in there to change the bulb they apparently did something and broke the entire assembly. Also my parking light is out and that was due to a burnt socket! Jeep needs to do better quality control here or use better parts.

Change the plug. It might be shorting out. Maybe bad ground or bad wire. Can also May be a relay.

Your parking light might be the one on the front fender. I would check them. Cause I had the same issue and I changed both.
