Hi Dino, I run that second rack with a 270 degree awning and shower on opposite side. I previously have ran a RTT on top for 1 year without issue. Just tighten up all the Allen bolts on bars and on clamp ends. Thank you for the review, and take care. -Ryan

If you have the ones with the extension , you can use the four points for lifting the rear roof off with a diy pulley system in your garage. Bonus !

Interesting idea. I’ve come across discussions about this in the forums. I don’t know how legit but some people had concerns about distorting the top that way but others didn’t.

These all look great, but the issue I would have is the rack capacity is 150 lbs., but the basket is 330lbs or 500 lbs max weight capacity from the Amazon listing. So the max weight you could put on top of your jeep would be somewhere in the neighborhood 120 lbs as the weight of the rack is 30.5 lbs. Seems like its not too efficient. Also, what kind of wind noise do you get from the installation?

Actually, I used them recently and drive over 1000 kilometres and had no noise at all. I think the wing shape and rubber seams are the reason why. I used to have a Tule set and they made terrible wind noise. Cheers

Did you happen to take a height measurement from the roof to the top of the basket with the first set of crossbars and the basket? Wondering if it would clear my garage door. Great video

Had no issues getting into my standard height garage, when I was running a similar set, with 35's and a 2.5" lift, but if you forget to take any extra attachments ,like a set of Kayak holders off, you're going to have issues;)

These are very nice options, but some of your viewers will need to know that not all Jeep hardtops have rain gutters running along the upper edge of their roofs. (Something these types of roof racks absolutely need in order to work) I drive a 2017 Jeep Wrangler JK with no rain gutters at all. It’s just as well, as I chose to go with a Gobi rack. It bolts to existing points on the A pillar in front, and the frame on the rear.

Hello, I should have mentioned that 208-2018 JKs onlyhave roof gutters from above the rear doord to the front windshield. They do not have gutters on the hard top over the rear windows. I'll use this as a subscriber tip. Thanks.

Think of all the extra lights you can put up there;) The second set at least has some steel in the gutter mount foot. Definitely more durable than the first set. I have a set of the Thule bars. All steel mounting foot assembly, with aluminum cross bars, but certainly alot harder on the mostly empty Jeep $$pockets :) Keep in mind the weight rating is also based on the crossbars being a certain distance apart, in pairs. While stretching them out for longer items is great for some items, your rated carrying capacity goes way down :)

That was a question that came to my mind--how far apart can you mount the crossbars to get more carrying space? You see Jeeps with complete rooftop tents up there, so the roof must be able to take it. Nice detailed video!
