Not sure if I missed it in a previous video, but did you replace the valve guides?

Valve springs are scary the first time. Started my 1ZZ engine tech rebuild this morning. So far so good! Pretty nice kit for the price. Had a couple small issues with the kit but overall got the job done. If you're curious I've posted a short video of the first start!

Yeah. Definitely a learning curve with doing springs

If using that type of valve spring compressor, I've ALWAYS put a zip tie at the bottom end to hold the prongs in. Just a little added protection so you are not worrying about flinging the spring into something that hurts. Just have to just the zip tie once installed.

I would think the oil seals that had the metal on the outside would be more efficient since the metal encases the rubberish gasket. The ones you used seem like they could easily break or give? Interested how it works out.

5:20 Why didn't you use new valves stems with your new springs?
@MFMauceri Жыл бұрын
Were the "easier" valve seals part of the EngineTech kit, or sourced somewhere else? If so... Where? Thanks.

From enginetech as well

Hey Dale shouldn’t of you cleaned the rust off the outside of that head before painting it? Also doesn’t look like when they got tanked that head that they got the topside very clean? Anyways awesome vid as always man 👍🤘
@JeepSolid5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it looks a little rough, but its clean.
@Himithor4 жыл бұрын
How did you clean the valve stems?

Thanks for following along over the years!! I usually use Castrol or Quaker State synthetic blend 10w-30

It's not just the word lube, it is how you say it. It sounds like you like the word too much. LOL.
@JeepSolid5 жыл бұрын
Haha! Lots of lube on the rebuild.
@BroncoSolid5 жыл бұрын
You say "lube" a lot. Not sure how that makes me feel.
@JeepSolid5 жыл бұрын
Yeah.. Rebuild requires a lot of lube 👍

All you did was paint over the gunk? You did not even prep the surface- Dislike.
