The third row is the second row out of a two door Jeep JK. You'll have to find one for sale.

Great idea. WIth a growing family, the JKU is filling up quick. This seat option is great as we will still be able to use the jeep for the family without having to settle for a mini van or a different SUV.

@sacapture The spacing on this bracket is made for the rear seat out of a two-door JK jeep. The seat can be swapped to face forward or back at any time. It also folds and tumbles for storage.

@ForteIIV I have sat back there and enjoyed it but two adults may be a little crowded. The center of the middle row is connected to the seat next to it so you would have to remove(unbolt) a side seat too

@melawynne 1. Once you get the inside air down to temp you'll be fine but you may want to use the remote start to get a jump on the cooling process before getting in the Jeep. 2. I have doubts about the legality of driving on the streets using the third row. I have done it but only short drives. The main issue will be how to mount the seat belts. The factory belts mount to the rear roll bar which back there, there is none. Sorry man. Do they have 4x4 mini vans?

For everyone who's looking forward to do this, just buy a Tj rear seat and go with someone to make the brackets, buy some seat covers that can match all your Jk seats, and that's it. don't complain about a two door jk rear seat, yeah, people got all crazy about that seat and putting a cost of over 800 bucks. With a Tj rear seat you can do a third row seat with under 200 bucks. buy some seatbelts, hook them under the seat and that's it. shame I can't show you pictures of my jk third seat with the Tj seat. Looks awesome and fits perfectly.

@HedgehogOutdoors I can see how that would be an issue. When i got mine a four-door was suggested if I ever planned on having kids in the future so that I would not have to sell it to fit a car seat. Food for thought. My buddy is selling his 06 wrangler under bluebook FYI.

Are you able to fold down soft top with the 3rd row seat? I would like to know, so I can buy one. Although the video angle is now clear, it appears to leave little room for top folded down. Maybe you can tumble forward 3rd seat, fold top down, then pull 3rd seat back up. Would this work? Please let me know, thanks.

@JKUSing2010 No, but I was looking into installing two lap belts. The factory seatbelts would only work if there were a roll bar farther back to mount them to... which adding one could work too.

@nolanwomble Yes, I bought the rear seat out of a two-door 2007-2012 jeep wrangler. This is the only seat that fits the TeraFlex third row bracket that I used in this video.

I have a 2015 4dr Sahara. Doesn’t fit exactly the same. You can’t put the plastics back in and the sub in the floor presents a problem. I bought the tool recommended by Smitty built to put these in. Broke the tool yay! Also requires 17/32 drill bit which isn’t a common bit. No stores around me carried it. Overall not happy with it for my 2015 Sahara.

Belts can be rigged up but I did not since I used it for off road use only.

@Truth939 I never did add the seat belts but I was going to install two lap belts attaching them to the seat or bolting to the frame below the seat. in the extreme case a rear sport cage may add a mounting location for the stock rear two-door belts.

Great video, I just got a back seat that matches my interior for $150, I saw you said you could get a deal on the brackets, is that still possible? what brand is the silicone, what type was it? my plan for the seat belts even though the should straps came with the seat I bought they are bulky and hard to hide, I will mount 2 lap belts to the base of the seats. there is also an extra roll cage from rock hard 4x4 for added row.

I keep seeing that people say it doesn't seem legal but have people seen the third row in a tesla. That seems way worse. Or even a some back seats in cars that have 2 inches of leg room with the seats all the way up.

+Mar It may be possible as long as... you have the space, there is a flat mounting surfaces for the brackets, and no fuel tank directly below where you will be drilling.

How did you reinstall the factory sub woofer after adding this kit?

I was going to tap the stock subwoofer wires into a "tube style" subwoofer box and mount it either above the wheel well or to the roll cage. Never got around to it.

Yes, the second row from a JKU is to big so you have to use the JK 2nd row for your new 3rd row.

Well, this is awesome, but unfortunately a complete no-go without a tutorial on safe and reasonably easy seatbelts. Also, I'm pretty sure putting anyone back there would be totally illegal, but I doubt the cops would know since it looks so good, lol.

just use a regular seat from a 4 door, cut it and make it fit in to the back side, go to a place where they can make you the brackets and that's it. I exchanged my soft top for a 4 door back seat, and I'll just go and cut the seat to make it fit, a guy it's going to make me the brackets under 100 dlls, and done!
