Good, Hope to see you on the trails. I tried to contact you a couple times either on FB or IG, to see if you want to do a video together. I'm just south of you, in Shelbyville. @@Poweraddicts

Friendy tip for clean up of gear grease either is the best I've found just don't smoke while your cleaning , takes a minute to evaporate.

Your videos are very useful, do you have a video of you doing a axle flip instead of doing a lift kit?

why don't the shims go on the outside of the bearing like a normal diff....
@Driven716 Жыл бұрын
why did your D30 had shims on both sides? behind race and in front of the race at the pinion? just curious. Isn't it usually just behind the race?
@Poweraddicts Жыл бұрын
The shims behind the race sets the pinion depth to the ring gear, the ones at the pinion nut combined with the ones behind the race set pinion pre-load tension. Check out the other videos in my playlist that demonstrate that. Here is the link: kzbin.info/aero/PL8Fz_3RM9QXZUk9yqfh5RdNNMOBU1na_t Hope that helps. Thanks for being part of the Power Addicts Crew!!

@@Poweraddicts ahh alright, so no crush sleeve then if you are shimming preload. Got it. I'm thinking of regearing my 30 and 44 on a 06 LJ, so watching enough videos to understand the process and to avoid complete screw up :) Your videos are the best because you explain things in simple terms

I’m swapping a 8.8 within the month and I’m gearing to 4.88 front and rear is this a guide for that?
@Poweraddicts9 ай бұрын
I haven't regeared an 8.8 on video yet. When the need comes up I'll sure do it.

....Just heat the bearings on a plate up to 200°C and the slip on without force. There is a reason why it is a tight fitting!!
@Poweraddicts10 ай бұрын
I should have done that. I have an oven that I used to powder coat with that would have worked fine for that. Maybe next time I'll not have a duh moment and remember that .. lol. Thanks for taking the time to leave a great tip!!

Thats the big thing most keyboard komandoes forget, Your building this vehicle for general purpose on and off road not an extreme crawler or mud truck. The YJ is capable of doing rough trails but it not the vehicle YOUR going to take out and beat the snot out of...If you can pound that into the KBW's eventually they start to get it... I get the same thing only IRL with my 2k TJ daily trail rig and my toy 47 willys beater. People keep saying "you should build up the TJ as a crawler and sell off the willys since it will never be as capable". lol little do they know. all the little small trails and narrow goat paths that would tear up the TJ's paint and body with Arizona pinstriping, where as the willys squeaks through those same trails no problem and the body is so scuffed its not a problem getting more scratches just adds character.
