Back in summer of 2000 I remember pitching a tent in the middle of Donegal Ireland with my girlfriend at the time. I am Australian , she's German, listening to this song in the middle of the night on her cassette player in Donegal. No even knew we were there. She was so loving the moment of being there. We married and had 5 children. She sadly passed away from a 4 year battle of breast cancer last year on Saint Patrick's day. This song takes me back to that moment with my soul mate. ..Cherish life beautiful ones

Sorry for your loss mate. I’m Irish and coincidentally it was Donegal girlfriend who introduced me to Belle & Sebastian way back then. Your soulmate was obviously a fighter, and I hope that in time you see her in the smiles of your children and hear her in their laughter and can let the emotions wash over you and be happy that she was in your life. Peace & love from Ireland.

Studying at my university in the 00s, on max antidepressants and anxiety dampeners, reading up for exams in the park, trying to reach just some kind of human connection to someone via the internet while thinking if this really was the best life had to offer, is so much my mood when I hear this song.

Dude I heard this song when I was 14 and the world was small and my home was comforting and I was in love and I wasn't scared of getting hurt and I was vulnerable cause I hadn't lived yet and that moment in which I first heard this song will always be preserved in this song.

The night before a big exam at Uni I went to bed early, stressed out my mind, trying to sleep. About half an hour later I heard this song blasting from my friend's room next door. I got up furiously and burst into his room. ' What the fuck are you doing! I've got an exam tomorrow.' He looked at me and said ' I know, I was just trying to cheer you up by playing a song you love.' I felt like a monster. But we laughed about it. And I passed the exam. A good friend.

And the moment will come when composure returns Put a face on the world, turn your back to the wall And you walk twenty yards with your head in the air Down the Liberty Hill, where the fashion brigade Look with curious eyes on your raggedy way And for once in your life you have nothing to say And could this be the time when somebody will come To say, "Look at yourself, you're not much used to anyone" Take a walk in the park, take a valium pill Read the letter you got from the memory girl But it takes more than this to make sense of the day Yeah it takes more than milk to get rid of the taste And you trusted to this, and you trusted to that And when you saw it all come, it was waving the flag Of the United States of Calamity, hey! After all that you've done boy, Im sure you're going to pay In the morning you come to the ladies salon To get all fitted out for The Paperback Throne But the people are living far away from the place Where you wanted to help, it's a bit of a waste And the puzzle will last till somebody will say "There's a lot to be done while your head is still young" If you put down your pen, leave your worries behind Then the moment will come, and the memory will shine Now the trouble is over, everybody got paid Everybody is happy, they are glad that they came Then you go to the place where you've finally found You can look at yourself sleep the clock around

I was in a store and this song was played... with all the noise here, i recorded with my cell phone the song, later in my house I tried to understand part of the lyrics and I googled it. If you're feeling sinister", mi favorito. The boy with arab strap". 65. Belle and Sebastian, "Sleep the clock around". Saludos.
