The story is so very British and just hilarious. And Nick brings it to life with his amazing delivery. Jeeves deadpan voice has me rolling on the floor in laughter.

Better than Jonathan Cecil ?
@Bambisgf77 Жыл бұрын
@@clivejones1152 very close call! Jonathan Cecil is a trained actor/ narrator. Mr. Martin is neither yet does an excellent job at bringing our beloved characters to life. That said, it’s perhaps an unfair comparison.
@clivejones1152 Жыл бұрын
@@Bambisgf77 Mr. Martin has certainly cornered the market in some of the shorter and many of the more obscure Wodehouse works. And it breaks no copyright laws. You started the comparison with professionals and I merely responded.

Recently found that amazing channel. Very talented narrator Trickynicky Marts, no idea why he has only 8.7 K subscribers. But the AI CLAUDE telling me that nowadays - " P.G. Wodehouse would not be considered a mainstream author in 2023, though he retains a devoted following to this day. Some key reasons: "- Peak popularity in early 20th century: Wodehouse was most prolific and well-known for his humorous stories and novels in the early 1900s through the 1930s. His popularity and cultural relevance has diminished over time. - Genre rooted in past era: Wodehouse's stories often focused on aristocratic British society during the early 1900s Edwardian era and World War I time periods. This gives his work a nostalgic, dated quality. - Quintessentially British humor/style: His very British humor, settings, slang, and prose style have less relatability and accessibility for modern general audiences, especially outside the UK. - Declining interest in comedy of manners genre: Wodehouse pioneered a distinct "comedy of manners" style that resonated more widely in the early 20th century than today. So while P.G. Wodehouse is still appreciated by many as an influential early 20th century humorist, he occupies a niche, nostalgia-tinged place in the modern literary landscape versus retaining mainstream popularity in 2023. His most dedicated fans tend to be history and classic literature buffs. But his works provide a charming window for audiences then and now to enjoy his era. " But I love P.G. Wodehouse dearly and thank you very much for your narrations!
