Jeez oh lawdy- Most underrated guitarist of ALL TIME
@coolmix443 жыл бұрын
I was the bassist and guitarist for the Motown group Jr. walker & The Allstars. One night back in the 80's we were doing a show at the Blue note in Toronto, Canada. This guy comes in with this blind kid and ask Jr if he could sit for a song. Jr said sure! He put the guitar on his lap and wow! Few years later i'm watching Roadhouse.. what the heck thats the kid who sat in with us...lol. Man i got some stories. A great talent he was. RIP. Best jam session are in Heaven!
@IchiEyes9 жыл бұрын
You see guitarists move their bodies and contort their faces when they play, and you can tell some over-do it. But Jeff, being blind, has probably no idea that some guitarists do this, this proves how passionate he was when playing, in my opinion.

that last 20 seconds of guitar playing can never be touched..Its hendrix times 10

There are quite a few guitar players out there but there are very few in my opinion who generate pure passion into energy that u can feel and Jeff was one of those few. Thank you Jeff for your talent, your love of music and for sharing a big part of your life. Rip

Healey is scorching the Earth here. Such a shame he's gone. Just brilliant. This was from David Sanborn's music program...a master musician in his own right.

I was lucky enough to see Healey open for ZZ Top many years ago. Unforgettable performance from him. Sometimes I wonder why we haven't seen more guitarists (with or without vision) playing a standard guitar across the lap like that.

Unbelievable is the word i use to describe that. But even that word is not fit to describe this. Jeff we miss ya man, good ol Canadian boy.

the show was called "Night Music" and was hosted by David Sanborn. It ran in the late 1980's and only lasted 1 season. Probably something to do with it being a show run by musicians for musicians. i saw Jeff in Omaha in the early 90's and he rocked!! THANKS FOR POSTING!!

A couple of weeks ago I saw a random video that said guitar genius and I got some backlash for criticizing the young guy playing. Some kook was trying to tell me I didn't know what I was talking about. Finally I said "go watch a Stanley Jordan or Jeff Healey video then tell me if you think this other guy is a genius". Needless to say I never heard another peep out of the guy. I feel like the word "Genius" should be preserved for people like Jeff that are obviously musically blessed..

I saw a few times up front, too. With his atypical overhand method he could bend the strings more easily. Like grabbing a baseball bat. The bend can be a strong one akin to Santana's, say on his famous song 'Everybody's Everything'

@payuki I'm not an expert on either drummer, so I'll take your word for it. In fact, there's another video on youtube of this exact same footage, where the title of the video states that it's Jordan, so the uploader of that video (SzalonyJogurt) obviously got that wrong.
