Tocchet mentioned the fued is normal even during the time he won Cups with another team. I think they just need to communicate and work things out. Play for the crest on the front and not the name on the back. If they can't do that, then start asking them to give them a trade list.

Thanks for this objective analysis, Jeff. I agree with your summation of ultimately which player to keep if a trade/change becomes necessary and the fact that there aren't too many teams where every player always sees eye to eye. While the Petterson/Miller feud is uncomfortable and divisive for fans as well, really a true fan's heart ultimately bleeds for the "team" over the players involved in the drama itself. As a longtime fan, I was very excited about this hockey season believing the Canucks had turned a corner and were becoming competitive again. It bothers me when I hear a player complain about how difficult the Vancouver market is to play in. What they don't realize is how much joy and elation they would bring to this passionate hockey city- and subsequently be celebrated for it for the rest of their lives- if they somehow managed to bring a Stanley Cup to this city and province. While a Stanley Cup would certainly be nice, fans simply expect a consistent and competitive effort each and every game. As a fan, I can deal with a loss if I know my team played their best game; however, for a wide variety of reasons we have not seen that so far this season. Fingers crossed they get it all sorted out soon! Go Canucks!

In interviews, Tocchet and Hughes were asked openly about the Miller vs. Pettersson fued and they denied nothing. Tocchet "Doesn't mean you need to play Playstation together." LoL. But this is out in the open now. To me it's classic Gen Z vs. Millennial cultures clashing. As a Millennial, I clash with Gen Z work ethic at work all the time.

trading Miller or Pettersson will have secondary consequences. Who ever gets traded...the OTHER guy who stays in Vancouver, will be viewed as the reason why the other guy got traded, and there will be resentment. its an ugly situation either way
