After last night's game against Nashville, there should be little doubt about how great Marner is. He was excellent on all levels, and with Matthews and Nylander and everyone else, keeping him permanently in Toronto is a no-brainer. However, Toronto management has often proved to have no brains going back many decades.

the thing i get from this though, is like the Boston series. I did not even know Marner was playing. he didnt go hard into the tough areas, didnt block shots, etc. if you are not scoring, then you better do something else. and that is far too often the case with Marner when it matters.

Marner played all 7 games against Boston on an ankle that he finished rehabbing 3 weeks after the Leafs were eliminated. Where were Matthews and and Nylander for all 7 games?

Treliving would ask for Wolf as part of the deal. I doubt the Flames would consider it and I bet Marner would not want to go to Calgary.

Tavares is on record as saying "There's no way he walks in free agency" or aka does a Tavares. Marner is a very good player but base on he's playoff performances he is overpaid and as such the any Team he players for with never have the cap to build around.
