Jeff Matiasevich and Damon Bradshaw Ride Again! (CRASH!)

It's been years since Jeff "Chicken" Matiasevich and Damon "The Beast From the East" Bradshaw have seen each other, but their fierce rivalry from the 90s lives on. In fact, unlike other arch rivals we've seen through the years have gone on to become friends, we've heard from both that there has been no reconciliation between the two since they retired.
Today, at the DSC Construction Ride Day at Perris Raceway, the two legends of motocross shared the track together for the first time in two decades. Our friend Wayne Ashby (@oneninetre on Instagram) captured some extraordinary footage of the duo on the track, including a spectacular crash by Bradshaw, in which we've heard he suffered two broken wrists. Matiasevich was quick to stop for his fallen rival, and he and his son Jake Himmel helped get Bradshaw and his bike back to the pits.
We're hoping the best for Bradshaw....heal up quickly Damon!

Thanks for the post. Last time I saw Damon was at Perris. He was trying a comeback around 95. He drove up in Dubachs truck with Dubachs bike. Helped me get my bike going then asked if he could ride it. Hell, I was too tired from kicking it and said yeah. It was my 95 YZ 250. He proceeded to rip it up at Perris then helped me with suspension changes. Picked up about 3 or 4 seconds a lap. By the way. He acted like he was a nobody when he rolled up. Super humble guy. I’ve been a huge fan since then.

I just loved this! These two define the early 90's for me! The 92 supercross series was just incredible because of these two guys! I'm thinking 92 Atlanta Supercross on the heat race! I hope Damon you aren't too hurt and you recover from your crash to ride with Chicken again! After all these years, you are both still super cool! Thanks for the content Donn and Wayne!

Younger generations don’t realize how cool this is to see. Bradshaw and Matiasevich were before my time but I watched old races and learned the history between these two. So cool to see! Thanks for filming and uploading this 🤘

I have known Chicken since he was 14 years old. He is a good friend of mine and his family is nothing short of a class act. I actually wrenched for him in 93 overseas (Japan-France) when he was riding for Suzuki. Oh the stories i could tell...lol. I think the media hyped up the hate these two had for each other. From what i remember they hardly ever even talked to each other. But, they did have a few fierce battles on the track.

Thanks for the post. These guys were at each other’s throats back in the day. It’s rewarding to see they can now trust each other and yet push each other on tracks at their age now. I know Daemon has has serious crashes. Surprised he can still ride so fast / smooth. Jeff doesn’t look like Father Time has even touched him. GREAT TO SEE THEM IN A BETTER POINT IN LIFE & RESPECT FROM WHERE THEY CAME FROM AND WHERE THEY ARE. Daemon - you’ve been on a poster in my Yamaha garage for almost 30 years. Both of you rock on.

My pops grew up beside the Bradshaw family and traveled with Damon all over the states racing pro SX and MX. Still talks to Damon and his little brother, Zach. Super good people 🤘🏻

Bradshaw was so close to getting a championship. I seen him at the Indy supercross and something went wrong on a big triple and he fell from the ceiling that night. A legend none the less.

Bradshaw got really hurt from this wreck. His hand got seriously jacked, and it's still affecting him today. This footage was really cool and nostalgic, until the wreck messed things up.
