It's because Abed is a cipher for Dan who has always wanted Abed and Annie to be a thing. There are lots of examples of Abed making plays, via characters, for Annie. In "Remedial Chaos Theory" Abed sets up the house party to woo Annie to move in. Roxanne plays throughout as a guide to Annie to leave the Dildopolis (it's also a cipher for Abed seeing himself as Cyrano deBergerac to Annie's Roxanne).

I did not like pierce very much, but it seems that the director that substituted Dan didn't know what to do with pierce and was always making an excuse to why he wasn't on the episode, a d when he was, he was just being an exaggeration of his own character, think that was the trigger for Chevy to drop the show

yeah i don't get it either. iirc the "she's pretty young, we try not to sexualize her" comment was from s1 where annie is 19 (where she is, i admit it, pretty young and naive and it does feel weird to sexualize her). in s4 she's around 22 so then it wouldn't be all that weird at all.

That’s just Jeff feeling like he was too old for her, so he wanted to justify suppressing his feelings, but also at the same time he didn’t like jack black’s character making lewd remarks about annie either (context of the original dialogue). Britta had no such guilt about dating Troy.

I know what you mean. Jeff expected Annie to dress as a scantily clad ring girl for the party. That might not sit well, but this was also after the season 3 Law and Order episode where Jeff was lured to the school late under the pretext that he was "about to get screwed in the yam lab."
