This bike inspired me to build a shadow bobber. This channel got me hooked on doing a shadow bobber. At first I thought I couldn't do it. But, after watching the videos on here, I decided to do it. Hopefully soon I can share my bobber with the lnspltblvd nation. Thanks guys!

Good Fricken Job.. I had a calling to scour KZbin to see the best and easiest way to build a bobber. I see your guys is content all over the place. I love it. Funny thing is I always seem to come back here.. I must of seen this episode LIKE 26 times. Funny thing is in the past I lived in San Diego. LIKE Jeff here I too owned a Datsun 510,(a slammed 71). Now I'm gonna buy me a 04' Shadow., to attempt this build. Be styling here in TX. Thanks Jeff and everyone on LVNSPLTBLVD for the inspiration!. 👌

This summer, I'm going to start building a 2006 vlx. Keep the Softail suspension, add a 2+ springer with disc brakes. Bobbed rear fender, 24" sissy with a skull covered tombstone taillight mounted to the sissy, skull shaped blinkers screwed into the sides of the tombstone and another pair upfront. The same seat as Jeff but with 3" hairpin springs (not coil) 5" LED headlight, complete digital speedo rolling on those classic old-school narrow tires front/back. Blackout engine/trans, blue anodized v stack with a purple anodized collar. Stick forward controls with bamboo style pegs, 16" Frisco style z ape hangers with bamboo style grips, knife blade style levers and old school round mirrors, and I haven't decided to use a 3 gal peanut tank or a 3 gal coffin tank. If peanut I'll custom paint it factory style 2 tone with house if kustoms metallic black for main then a medium coat of 2k clear using a torch to fog it a little, tape off for a house of kustoms factory blue match but metallic, then do a 1" good leaf trim at edge of blue and black then a coat of house if kustoms plum candy, then lastly a mirrored finish of 2k clear. Now if I go with a coffin tank I'll fabricate a hinged lid to hide the bung. The outside painted with a piano black solid lift the lid and underneath the lid base coat with hood anodize the coat with transparent plum, top of tank (bung area) same gold anodize but after coat with a royal or cobalt transparent blue. Clear both with a satin clear. Trim out the coffin tank with brass hinges latches and side handles to make it look more like a coffin. I've estimated the cost for the build using either tank and include the donor bike around 6g to 7g total. When it's completed I'll post it here on my channel (I'll even do a start to finish vlog of the build and when finished I'll shoot u a message with a link to my channel so you can see the finished product. Oh and the exhaust, upsweep with a 1-2 y pipe on the rear upbend of each pipe running 4 pipes up with turnouts at the 4 tips. This will be my third build in 7 years. The first was a bare frame vt600 from a junk yard and parts from either ebay or Amazon. The second was a Kaw 800 classic basic bobber.

Very nice! I've got an '83 750 Shadow chop I've been nickel-and diming on for years. First thing I did was trash those irritating carbs, have a Harley-style manifold made to run a single Keihin on the side, Harley-style. (Honda changed the Shadow over to that style later on just to copy me, of course.) Saved up for a 4"-over springer, had a friend machine some bushings for the rockers to fit a Honda axle. I still need to either make a hardtail rear end for it, or just win the lottery and buy an aftermarket hardtail frame, and (hopefully) fit it from there. (Shaft drive doesn't give ya much leeway!) Got a Suzuki Savage gas tank that profiles like a Sporty but has the built-in dash; I can adapt the OEM speedo to fit. Not too long now! Got a set of proper 14" apes hangin' on the wall ready to go.
