Astro doesn't get enough credit for their dance PERIOD. For years people just brushed them off as a cute boyish group and assumed they just jumped around and smiled cutely. Its only recently they're starting to get recognized at all in the Kpop world and for their dance. I feel like non dancers have a tendency to see slower elegant/flowy moves as "easy" and simple while seeing high energy powerful jumps as hard. Which obviously isn't alway the case. Astro just has this was of moving thats so fluid and pretty to watch and they mixed it in with some hard hitting jumps. Its frustrating that they were pushed aside for so long. I feel like they started to gain some traction after they shifted a bit away from the boyish look around "Crazy Sexy Cool" or "Always You" era. Anyways, when you have a chance, please watch "Hide and Seek" or "Breathless"!

Yeah. Their dance looks easy and simple but it's actually have lots of detail and need power to convey it correctlt. Their steps is so light tho- it's actually a powerful dance but they're conveying it with light steps that you rarely heard their stomping in their dance practice

Those pirouettes are from their "Pirates of the Caribbean " aerobics routine they performed in 2017 at ISAC. Jin Jin did one in the corner rotating the opposite way while Rocky and Moon Bin executed theirsflanking him. It did take Moon Bin a little longer to get. You might enjoy watching that.

Honestly Astro doesn't get enough credit for anything period. For so long they were kinda ignored because their concept was cuter so people didn't pay attention to their dancing or their vocals/rap which is a shame because I feel like a group shouldn't have to do hard concept to have their talent recognised. ASTRO has been raising the bar higher than the standard ever since their debut but has been ignored a lot of times. 1) They debuted in 2016 with a cute, refreshing and youthful concept when most BGs that time are into hardcore and mature concepts. 2) Ever since debut, they managed to have the hardest title track choreographies in kpop while dancing in sync (yes, i am suggesting you to check their previous dance practices too) -- which in my conclusion why there are no other groups or famous people to ever cover their dances. It is THAT hard (well, everyone can still learn those tho haha) 3) They always include classical techniques in their choreographies (jump and turn - heck, even the execution of their dance details like extension of hands and feet) -- one big example is "again" which you've just reacted to 4) All of them can sing and rap. They can switch parts in their song and do it excellently. They have excellent harmonies too. They can do an acapella very beautifully (they have acoustic covers too, you can check if you want) 5) All of them are actors before they debuted as an idol group. Yes, all of them are amazing actors too. You can check a bunch of them in your free time. Hahahaha. 6) All 6 of them are visuals. YES. ALL. OF. THEM. Hahahaha! I can still add a lot but I guess people already said it. When you get to know them better, you will love them. Not just because of their talents, but because of their personalities. PLUS THE FANS. We treat each other as family. Arohas are very nice, they welcome you and help you. SO EVEN IF YOU DON'T SAY IT YET, I'M GONNA WELCOME YOU IN THIS FAMILY ALREADY. :) Hehe. I absolutely think Astro are underrated as dancers. They have insane synchronization, not to mention their dances incorporate more flowy movements which makes it even MORE difficult, but people never mention them in their top dance groups. I also like to point out that as an even membered group, they do a really good job of using unique formations instead of hiding one member behind center. Astro also should be noted for their unique distinct style of dance. It's so characteristic and really stands out. As a dancer, I've always thought Rocky deserves to be a contender for best idol dancer. He has insane body control and control that seems to fly under the radar for most people. He can do the hits, he can do the stops, he can spin, he can flow all to an extremely high level, but is constantly forgotten when people discuss best dancers. I've spent so many hours showing my dancer friends his dance vids bc he's just so satisfying to watch. Tldr; Astro are amazing dancers and it'ss frustrating people overlook them and Rocky in particular deserves more credit.

Rocky teaches and guides the other members how to do the spins beautifully 😂. He's basically the one who refines their choreos since he is heavily involved in the making. There are videos/ dance practices that actually show him instructing them how to do it correctly. I think one is from the without you/moonwalk dance practice and the other is from their dance practice for men's aerobics in ISAC (moonbin and rocky also did the pirouette there) .

A year after and I’m here! I’ve been following Astro for only a month now and I am totally impressed by them! My first time as a fangirl too! Binge-watching their videos from ever since their pre-debut and I must say I am in awe of their talents, dedication, personalities, and how they care for each other and Arohas! I’ve seen the Idol Athletic Championships vids and I think those pirouettes were adapted from there. I’ve also seen one video where they danced Blue Flame where the music speed was adjusted 2x and the part where they have to drop on the floor played repeatedly, which was so tiring and as you said, dangerous! The back up dancers could not even keep up, but Astro did not falter and still did the sequence effortlessly! This group is sooooo amazing! And yes, the world needs to know about Astro! I’m so glad I found them! 💜💜💜 Thank you, Jeff for saying that even if you get fewer views when you make a review about them, you’d still do it bec they deserve the recognition! I am so glad you reacted to AGAIN after like knowing the members and Astro's synchronisation/music. AGAIN's choreography is one of the most amazingly satisfying dance to watch and it's so underrated. Your reaction is how I felt the very first time I watched and still my fave to this day.

You are absolutely right on the pirouettes. They’re very difficult, especially followed up with a jump (which also turns) like that! And yes, it was more of a jazz pirouette, since classical ballet focuses a lot on staying in that 1st position (so turned out feet, en the rest of your leg staying in that line. So if you were to lift your knee like in a pirouette, it’s also supposed to be in that turned out position). And yes, their synchronization is underrated!! Astro has a few of my favorite choreographies, first of all because they’re just so beautiful and mesmerizing to watch, and second because of Rocky’s influence, which brings a bit of classical style dancing (such as jazz and ballet). I love to see these classical influences, and I love it even more when it’s acknowledged and praised :) I dance ballet and contemporary myself (as a hobby, I do have dance classes and such but it’s just pure fun and small performances, nowhere near professional) and get super excited when I see these classical influences (my reaction to those pirouettes were the same as yours 😂😅)

Jeff, thanks for reacting again to #ASTRO's choreography and dances. Thank you for appreciating one of the tremendous talents of these boys. ASTRO is a talented and complete group in all aspects. Here we look at their choreography and dances. It is no secret to anyone that Rocky and Moonbin are the strong guys in this regard, but Sanha and JinJin are right behind with their heels on and MJ has an unmatched rhythm that puts them up to scratch. But nobody talks about Eunwoo, the young man who entered as a trainee without knowing how to sing or dance (Rocky's words), and who was always behind in the monthly tests. He didn't get stuck on that. He persevered and worked (and continues to do so to this day), to live up to what the group deserves. And there you have it, she dances with elegance, fluidity, synchrony, energy and has even done more than a few pirouettes (like in "Again"). Who does not know it and sees him, would not say that he does not know how to dance. Because he tries twice as hard and maybe more to get the choreography ahead. Maybe he doesn't dance on a daily basis, but that's his private life. As for the group, it does more than good. And so, up to the level Rocky has reached, he admires and respects him.

oh okay fyi,when rocky solo dance time came one,he actually duo dancing with a female backup dancer. You can search up blue flame stage to see it. This is their first time to dance with backup dancers so the conclusion is rocky just freestyling there

I thought it was said somewhere that Rocky had to dance with the backup girl was because he was suppoesed to dance with Moonbin, but because he wasn't promoting during Blue Flame they had to use the girl. I think it was mentioned in one of the MV or Blue Flame Shows. :-)

Oh and if you like that pirouette, you might want to watch With You dance practice, just for fun, because Rocky does double axel with a jump there (pardon my lack of terminology) and a split afterwards. again/should've held on is personally on one of the best choreos list..it's aesthetically made with techniques and its fluidity..credits to the choreographer😉, moreso the meaning of the song conveyed through the dance.. as much as we love this song, it saddens us that it hadn't had a proper mv though.. anyways,thanks for loving astro💜 (do watch their live performances for this song- again, it'll be amazing too..)

Again is definitely my favorite Astro song and the choreo is phenomenal. I love how elegant and clean the dancing is. Also it is hard for me to get my eyes off Rocky, there is something in the way he moves that draws my attention every time I watch the dance practice.

Makes me so HAPPY that’s your getting to know our Astro boys a bit more the more you’re exposed to their dances and music. They’re really such an underrated and under-appreciated group! I love your analysis and break-downs on dance choreo and execution and found your channel to finally do justice for a group a like Astro that lack recognition for the efforts. im actually a gymnast and yes pirouettes are hard to get a perfect one and make it clean plus with a jump ecspecially on beam. THEY SLAYEDDD 💜💜 STAN ASTRO YOU WONT REGRET💜💜

I love so much how you enjoy and recognize their dance! I remember when I was first looking into them I thought their songs were good, but nothing crazy. Then I came across a dance practice and thought "why did nobody tell me they could dance like that!!" Since you've seen most of their releases, you should definitely check out the other 3!! Hide & Seek, their debut, is still one of my all time fave choreos

I agree! Astro, I feel is one of the most syncronized in terms of dancing. Made me so happy to hear someone poit that out. Hehe There's a very very short performance cut of Always you where I truly appreciated Rocky's dance background. (the video was of Rocky, Moonbin, and Jinjin)

astro doesnt get enough credit for anything! they are so amazingly talented in all aspects it angers me so much that people continue to ignore them. astro has been synchronized since day 1 so PLEASE check out hide and seek and breathless (their debut and first comeback). no one talks about how insane these songs and choreos actually were. they are very high energy and just very well done both of them are still some of my favorite choreographies. love your reactions and i hope to see more astro reactions please! (idk what is allowed on youtube but astro's performances on immortal songs 2 are phenomenal and definitely worth a watch even if you dont react to it!)

As a devoted Aroha, I really enjoyed watching this video (made me really emotional), and I once again realized how talented and precious Astro is, after watching you, a professional dancer, react to their choreography. I screamed after noticing how Rocky had a different, beautiful turn at 1:41, and how the drop in 8:05 was actually really dangerous and hard, but was proficiently executed by the members with their awesome skills (damn I realized that I would've twisted my ankle if I did that). Of course, there were many others that took me by surprise, and made me really emotional (because of their GORGEOUS, BEAUTIFUL talent), but it'll be endless, so I'll end it here.
