the fact that people were talking about how this dance isn't "as hard" as their previous ones, shows that they don't know how difficult contemporary can be.
@JeffAvenue

Pfft them people who says this choreo ain’t hard are either ignorant or have never danced this style before lol Sure some people may be able to execute this but most likely not to this level of perfection.

I agree with what Jeff said about the perfection part-- it's probably not as hard to get the moves but to give them that extra polish and put the whole performance together takes a lot of skill

Can you believe that some people are saying that this choreo is not as difficult as their usual ones, clearly people who don't understand the technical skills of contemporary dance. It was beautifully executed, they are stunning. In the words of Hobi "there's something about dance that moves you" - well they certainly moved me, elegantly powerful.

this is because they do a relationship between hard and full energy dances and that´s not necesarilly true like what we see here, black swan as a contemporary concept song, shows that slow movements recquires a lot of muscle strength and that´s why it is hard but people just think energy, hardcore dances are the only ones that we can defined as difficult.
@lunarialoonatic
@lunarialoonatic 2 жыл бұрын
This type of dance may not require as much energy (in the sense that it lacks the hype factor for more energetic dances). However the technicalities make contemporary dancing as hard as hip hop.

I've always noticed that about BTS! You can clearly make out slight differences in their personal style, especially between Hobi and Jimin since they come from pretty much opposite dancing backgrounds. But you can see during performances that the members that are not in the center at one moment will hold themselves back a little and not go all out with their moves as much as they could if they wanted to. I always thought the reason for that is mostly to conserve a bit of energy, but that never made sense completely since BTS seem to dislike nothing more than not giving their all during a live stage lol. So yeah, them putting group harmony over personal spotlight defintely makes a lot of sense and it just shows once again how amazing they work together as a team! EDIT: My theory about that move you asked about is that it maybe symbolizes baring your heart, as in opening yourself up and exposing your deepest thoughts, fears and struggles. They do that a lot in their lyrics, so it'd make sense to express it through the choreo as well. Also, whenever I see them do difficult, dance focused performances like this, I think about the fact that Yoongi only agreed to be in BTS because he was promised that it'd be a hip hop group and he wouldn't have to dance that much lmao

personally, i think that if Blood Sweat & Tears and Fake Love had a baby, it will be Black Swan... the entire dance is amazing. and i agree, all 7 members hould be the dance line.. the strength they needed to have to do some of the moves in this particular dance.. unbelievable.. i can't exactly recall if the hand move/position was in BS&T but i remember a move close to this in Fake Love, with Kookie doing it in his solo part at the start of the song, when he ran off to the side to dance alone. not really sure if it meant anything or if it was the same because the style are both contemporary. whatever the reason, I LOVE IT! BTS never disappoints with their choreography, no matter the genre... always so good! Black Swan choreography joined BS&T and Fake Love as my fave... i wonder if they will release an official MV for Black Swan with their choreography... love, love, love your reaction! cheers!

I don't think they are repeating moves from previous choreography, rather the audience had been unaware of how MUCH of BTS choreography in based on contemporary dance. I don't think the more advanced members are holding back. I see that their trainer and choreographers have sculpted pieces for group presentation and worked everyone to a very high standard regardless of innate ability. So when main dancers rotate in and out the chorus is stable. Likewise the leads step back for the other singers. Otherwise everything would be unbalanced.
@undefinedlanguage1228
@undefinedlanguage1228 4 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. Like BTS they have like individuality to their dancing. In sync, but it doesn’t take away their own touch to that specific move. Idk if that make sense 😅 And they really compliment each other. Whoever on the center stage would really take the spotlight. Another thing is how they are laid back now, not that they are not working hard, powerful still but the energy is not like forced out. They know when to use it. Like if you’ve seen them performing NO and bulletproof pt2 on MAMA 2019. It’s so much better then them performing it back in 2013. Back then they are just spitting out energy and just going hard to every move which makes it look robotic (?) but now it’s much more artistic (?) HHahah I’m not good with words but I hope u understand what I’m trying to say. As always, love your reaction!

@5:30 THIS. At last someone says it so accurately. Yes, it’s no news that kpop idols can dance, of course they can, that’s one of the expect of being an idol and very good at it too. But what makes BTS different and eye-catching, it’s because they blend so well. Imo, I deduced it must been because of their teamwork , not saying other groups don’t have it. But it may be due to them practising together for so long, they have live together from debut days. When you are with someone that long, sometimes you’d almost know what they’d think or would do without asking. With that being said, they may have incorporated that aspect, into their dancing or the whole performance itself that makes it so on point, the finishing is always so clean. And it’s as you said, they do not have that ‘self centered’ mentality as you said, they don’t fight to be in the center of attention, they know when to take a step back and allow others come forth. For example, people whom do not know BTS well enough, would always catch on jimin being the best dancer, while Jhope is the main dancer and choreographer. But the fact that they don’t emphasised on individuality roles more than the whole group itself made them shine. That is one of the main contributing factor how they win so many fans. Imagine everyone in the group wants to outshine, the whole group would seem unnatural and force. It would not be seamless if you’re not selfless. When someone asked, what’s their success, people would say it’s the internet, they being humble would say it’s armys. But before converting people into their fans, that honour is theirs. They won our hearts with their selfless attitude and teamwork.

BTS really live out their words... they've always said that they're A FAMILY, not just a GROUP. So it makes sense that NOBODY wants to OUTSHINE the others, especially in their dance movements, whether as the Center or at the Back, in order for the "Group Harmony" (thanks for the apt term!) to emerge. More than 5 years of literally living together, facing hardships & success TOGETHER. has strengthened their bond for the better, as it is obvious from their immaculately synchronized moves. This is even more amazing knowing the fact that only 2 have had actual dance training, J-Hope & Jimin, and there were 2 members considered the worst dancers, RM & Jin, who had had neither the training nor the interest for dancing prior to joining BTS. Now look at them! Thank you for acknowledging their efforts!👍💜💗 Yes, looking at BTS live performances now, they should all be in THE DANCE LINE 🙏💜

One thing that always stand out for me is the seamlessness of the transitions How they move into position in a tight stage without even looking sometimes. It’s like if you’ve been together for so long, you start to know what they’re thinking even without them saying anything- some sort of telepathy like you said haha. I’m sure there’s chaos in rehearsals, they wouldn’t be BTS without it lol. But I’m sure at this point, these guy learn very quickly.

I absolutely don't understand how some ppl can say the choreo is easier than other ones! I wonder if we're seeing the same thing! It's not bc it's not as fast & full of '' power moves'' as idol, for example, that it's easy! Spring day' s choreo was frikin hard & so is black swan! Boy With Luv is wayyyy easier than idol, fake love, dna, BST, but not black swan. for sure at some point they'll have to decrease their's choreos' difficulties as they get older, but they still have time before that

Omg, can we be best friends? I really love your reactions, I already watch many of your videos and love how you really put attention to everything and explain the moves and understand how they trying to tell something with dancing. And not just you talking about dancing but also their vocals and rap, you really put attention to all that and visuals. You have a new suscriber 👍 If you like this kind of dancing, you should check out Seventeen - Thanks choreography, it is not at all ballet but have some moves, it has a MV too. Sorry if I write something wrong 😂 I'm still learning english grammar so it's a little bit difficult.

@@JeffAvenue thank you 😁 I really like your videos and as I watch you really like Seventeen, i'm a big carat (Seventeen fandom name) so I really love how you can see their potential. Another song you might like is Call Call Call, have MV and dance practice but is a Japaneses song so be careful. Also another group is TXT, they have a song call Can we just leave the monster alive?, and the dace is really hard (don't have MV but pretty sure their others MV will like you) Again, sorry for the grammar

Why it didn't happen at the Grammys? Seriously how many Asian faces were in that audience? BTS would have had a better chance of recognition if they were from Mali. 9 nominations and 4 wins for musicians from that country. Malians do not threaten the American music industry. K pop artists do. Psy couldn't get recognition for Gangnam Style. BTS puts in a year for the worldwide books but literally needed ARMY to bitch and moan just so they could get 45 seconds saluting the work of an American artist. Kind of like how after their first award show win with I Need You they had to work as backup dancers. Unlike the AMA's and Billboards, the Grammys disgustingly do not consider Koreans to be purveyors of good music and are part of the same cabal which has insured virtually no American radio play for BTS, a group they have no financial skin in. So I am going to say as much as I would have liked them to break that anti-Asian wall the Grammys have maintained, I am happy they did Black Swan in America with a tv host they have indicated is one of the most comfortable with which to work anywhere. Cordon, as seen in Carpool Karaoke, makes musicians of all stripes comfortable and is a genuinely good guy.

That nomination thing is not true because Demi Lovato (whom I love btw) performed and wasn't nominated. Not sure if they meant that you had to have been nominated in the past also but either way, it's a bit weird.

“They blend so well.. their moves are not self centered.” You’re speaking facts and I love it! 💯 That’s what I observed too. Other groups or performers are great dancers as well, but if they dance together it doesn’t have this “aura” like BTS coz they outshine each other.. 🤷🏻‍♀️ but BTS are different, they are great dancers, they shine individually but when they dance together they BLEND so well that makes it more captivating & astonishing and it’s like they are ONE with the song. They are unbelievable! They are So talented and very creative! You can really see that they have the same goal. 💜

Im a dancer/choreo and always watch dance videos in youtube and the first video i saw of BTS is their Danger dance practice. My first impression of them that time, and it was before i became an army, is that they danced as a very professional dance crew and not just a boyband. Their dancing is what i always respect with BTS. I was even shocked when it was only 3 members that has dance training. They really dance as one unit.

it's not that the members hold back during dance outside of the centre, but I think they focus more on complimenting each other within the entire picture (as you said) than trying to be the best dancer and standing out. I think it's because BTS is so attuned to each other and because they probably feel that individual fame is subpar to the performance BTS presents as an entirety
