you actually have every reason to say it has a musical vibe, they themselves said in an interview that the dance was similar to a musical and that when they saw the sketch of the choreography they were afraid because those were steps they hadn't tried before, but that they rehearsed a lot and put all their energy into it, I love the choreography of stray kids

seungmin went HARD on this one tho,,,he's improved so much since debut im so proud of him,,,seungmin deserves so much more love and attention, esp from the fandom. he's so talented and is an all rounder too, and he was even the only member aside from 3racha that was never at risk of being eliminated, he's always super stable live, the list goes on. stays, appreciate kim seungmin!!! he's our main vocalist, but stays would rather talk about everyone else's vocals than his (which, like i love, bc everyone in skz is talented as fuck but i just WISH we would give seungmin's vocals the attention he deserves, he's our fucking main vocalist for god's sake). this man drives himself to such a level of perfection only to not get the praise he deserves, i mean we all collectively love young wings, but seungmin still thinks he could have done better even though it was already perfect and its already been 3 years.THAT'S the kind of person and artist he is. anyway, stan king seungmin

I don't know if you will see this but I'm dying to ask since I'm no dancer in any sense. I've seen lots of people commenting on the dance practice saying that Lee Know should have had more spotlight since he is the main dancer of the group but he was in the back most of the time. Idk why but I feel that he was meant to be placed behind because he needs to support his members from the back. It's just my opinion according to what I see as a non-performer, but what's your opinion on that?
@veryferal1970
@veryferal1970 3 жыл бұрын
Febe Kartika yes! SKZ doesn’t do anything willy nilly. Everything move they make is thoroughly planned and executed. There’s a reason for everything and we have to trust that SKZ and those around them are making the best decisions for the group as a whole. And I say all this being Minho biased. I want a killing part, dance break, insane styling moment, etc. for him in a title track as much as anyone else but I also fully trust SKZ’s vision and know that they have a purpose for all things!

@@veryferal1970 I agree, I feel like most who are Minho biased wanted more screentime and lines and rightfully so. However, I think with placing him in the back of the group was done on purpose ... I have faith that there is a reason why he isn't being centered. Perhaps he will be center in the next coming MVs from the album??

I think they planned it considering who can bring most impact in every moves, and Lee Know's style of dancing doesn't really match hard-hitting choreography. His dance imo is more focused in fluidity, it really shows in his skz player videos, hence why he was given more center position in choreography like "Easy".

Seungmini is really just something in every sense of his amazing sense of rhythm, the clarity of his movements can only be envied, and the level of plasticity is God, which is why he often performs some movements faster than other members. Undoubtedly, such choreographies as "EASY" "BACK DOOR" "CASE 143" "S-CLASS" "GET LIT" were created especially for him. This unreal vibe feeling that comes from Seungmini during the dance cannot be confused with anything else. And his ideal body proportions, a truly divine figure and visual "tall stature, wide shoulders with a back, a chic waist and long legs" add even more effect.

The turn they do in the beginning is a an en dehors jazz pirouette. The difference between a jazz and a ballet pirouette isn't the direction (en dehors "outward" or an dedans "inward") it's the placement of the passé and the prep. Ballet pirouettes are turned out in both the prep and the passe while a jazz pirouette is turned in and parallel in both the prep and passe. Also, the moves they do in the break down at the end are heavily inspired by the Charleston and the move that gave "taekwando" energy seems to be a house step, or at least similar. Great stuff though! You are totally on point with the musical theater references. This feels like a combo of newsies, kiss me Kate, and west side story. Definitely some Fosse references in there.

Its a jazz pirouette, its parallel. Ballet pirouette turn out at the knee. The diff between jazz and ballet is not about preparation, its about the turning in or out

I love how interesting everything is. My favorite is the Felix spin / kick. It takes a formation where you're supposed to naturally look center, and pulls your attention to the right and it's so unique in kpop.

I love that several moves remind me of old hollywood musicals like gene kelly and Fred Astaire. Especially Felix’s kick at the end.
