There is an actual reason hatters went mad back in the day. To make the hats they made and sold look extra nice, hatters would use mercury as a way to make them that way. Mercury fumes are actually toxic and hatters would inhale the fumes and get poisoned. They eventually lost their minds and went crazy. Hence the phrase, "Mad as a hatter." The character of the Mad Hatter was dying of mercury poisoning.

I was just rewatching this episode and then when he said civil war I giggled so hard that I had to go on google and search up this scene just to see how many other people LOLed with me. MWAHAHAHA it's like he predicted it. XD I just love little things like this. They amuse me even if they happen by accident. On the more serious note as a fan of this show I think this was my favorite scene. The whole part of magical solution without believing in magic. Actually a lot of the things the mad hatter said are very true. He has this kind of simple wisdom about him. I hope they put him in a few more episodes in the future when the actor has more time in-between the marvel movies. It would be so amazing if he came back to the show. He was my favorite. And his daughter grace was such a cutie. I just want to see what happened to them and how they are doing. As much as I love character of bucky, I love this character more.
