I'm at 9:17 and seeing those news on the vacuum made me think of two scenarios: the queen landed on the vac and the other bed are protecting /escorting her or they're swarming right now but the scout was lazy, landed on the vac and started nasonoving and that's why the bees are on the vac. But I've never been a beekeeper. I've just gone to Mr. Ed Unuversity on KZbin.

Got to bee harder to find queen If they were getting ready to swarm Mr ed and charlie you sure get into a mess lol that's crazy how they work bees are hard workers America can learn from bees 🐝 God bless Mr ed and of course charlie
@markpashia70672 жыл бұрын
Americans were always the hard workers until the jobs went overseas. Who is motivated to work hard at slave wages and no benefits these days??? I do not blame the young people one bit when labor is worth less than passive investors!!! And execs getting one thousand times average wage as a reward to screw over workers??? Those folks will work as hard as anyone ever did when they get a fair share of the pie. Until then they will copy the lazy wealthy and invest in the screwed up stock markets in hopes of getting a fair share for themselves. The tax policies of the sixties WERE AN INCENTIVE to work and invest rationally, but since Reagan Revolution and Clinton's Third Way they have no reason to do labor. WAKE UP AMERICA. Look at Mr. Ed and Charley working hard and all the young people who are following them. Young people are going self employed to get a bigger share of the pie and I for one am proud of them. Maybe someday this country will wake up and reinstate a fair system that REWARDS LABOR instead of investors.

Hey Jeff QQ. What is an acceptable loss for field bees not making it back to where the swarm has setup shop. If i remove a swarm trap from a location to my home yard during the afternoon when field bees are out, is that cool? I assume just feed the new colony at the new location until the queen can lay more field bees?

That is remarkable! At least the comb was really fresh and beautiful and good to reestablish two or more hives to add to your bee yards! I can only dream of finding swarms like that around where I live. When I advertise people call and tell me they have honey bees in their wall and I get there and they have a huge wasp nest (very common here). What is hard to smile and keep going about these is that the people KNOW when they call what they have. They have been stung most often and have identified the paper nest but call me because they don’t want to pay the $1800 for a wasp remediation. I helped a few older folks but it’s too dangerous for me with my sting allergy and the very aggressive type of wasp that we have here but normally I inform them of what they knew already, a few admit their deception, and I recommend a good service. Out on our farm we have dozens of wasp nests and it’s a real problem here.

Mr. Ed I have enjoyed your videos for a long time. I am in my ninth year of beekeeping and have learned a lot from you. Do you make your bottom board with the entrance cut in the front board of your bottom board? How long of entrance do you make? I don’t see you use entrance reducers. Maybe we need the m more in the north.
@JeffHorchoff2 жыл бұрын
My entrances are cut into the bottom board itself, and I use several different configurations. However, my favorite is two entrances, one on each side of the front, that measure 3/4 inch long and 3/8 inch high. I prefer very small entrances as that is what I have noticed in the removals I do, they all have small entrances. Thanks for watching. God's peace Jery. Mr. Ed

Could you tell me how you get the first few pieces of comb out when its such a tight spot where you can't get a knife in. Have learnt a lot from you , thanks. My daughter and I love to rescue bees had a few disasters with SHB because we did put some of their honey in the frames but after watching you will only put brood in from now on. Oh do you clean all the wax off after your done so as not to attract other bees to go in that space, how pedantic do you have to be? It's coming into winter here in Australia so have time for prep.
