Hi everyone! This video is Part #1 of a 3 part series. It will not only help you prepare for the GCA interview, but this prep strategy will save you tons of time. I pasted all the prompts I used in this video in the YT description 😬

Great content Jeff, however, I had a GCA interview where I started using the CFAS method, and when started asking clarification questions, the interviewer stopped and told me he gave me everything and will not any question, when I started thinking loudly to show him my thought process he stopped me. This really destabilized me and failed the interview. I think before starting the interview for GCA ask the interviewer if you can ask clarifying questions or not. Candidates will have to prepare for both scenarios if they want to use CFAS method
@jeffhsipepi Жыл бұрын
@OubouchouN, thank you so much for sharing. All of my advice is terrible is we do adapt to our interviewer. All of Google's career advice is to ask clarifying questions, but it is not uncommon for interviewers to shut this down. If an interviewer shuts down clarifying questions and or thought process, my recommendation is to simply move onto the framework, assumptions, and solution. I am sorry you had this experience, any interviewer that is uninterested in your clarifying questions is simply not a good interviewer.

Same exact thing happened with me - seems like they’re told to try to intentionally trip the candidate or make them feel a little pressure, maybe part of the process?
@quantumhelium Жыл бұрын
I think most interviewers would just push along saying, well lets not focus too much on the details.. Just tell me your thought process. Shutting someone down is just rude. So yeah, I agree. Crappy interviewer.@@jeffhsipepi

Thank you so much for sharing this, super helpful. Can you please also create a video for Compliance Business Analyst, you tube trust and safety position at Google. And also any practice questions on GCA for this specific role. I went through your video for Business Analyst, you tube trust and safety position,. But it would be really helpful if you could include a video based on the position shared. Also if the interview includes both GCA and RRK, how many questions can be expected from the interviewer for this same position?
@jeffhsipepi Жыл бұрын
@user-fm7gq3ks6p, I take all requests for videos seriously and I will add it to my list of video requests. I cannot guarantee that I will create this video. The interview will include both GCA and RRK questions. GCA interviews are typically 2 to 3 questions. RRK ainterviews are typically 4-7 questions.

Thanks, Jeff. I'm preparing for a senior account executive role (non-tech/Google Ads solutions), and this information is extremely useful. I can't wait to return and thank you/your videos for helping me get into Google very soon. 😁🤞 Quick question: Instead of the Technical framework, which frameworks would you recommend I focus on for this role?
@jeffhsipepi8 ай бұрын
@ZorianDelaCosta, remember that frameworks should focus on what you think are the most important items. Some framework concepts to consider for this role are: Goals and Objectives, Research, Scope/Scale, Campaigns, Performance, Prioritization, Personalization, Budget, Timeline, Target Audience, Competition Market Data, Segmentation/Niche , Needs/ Preferences, Use Cases, Trends. I hope this helps!

@jeffhsipepi5 ай бұрын
@Gamecenter456, I recommend really thinking through what scenarios you have faced in your DC career and what are the likely scenarios you will face in this type of role. In a GCA interview it is critical to always answer the hypothetical questions like you are already in the position/in the lens of the position. Good luck!

Hi Jeff, what kind of GCA hypothetical Qs is asked for a program manager role at Google.
@jeffhsipepi Жыл бұрын
@Sabvars, most candidates will get one random hypothetical question that has nothing to do with the job (answer like you are a Program Manager), you will likely get a second question that is hypothetical, but more Program Management specific, and sometimes, on behavioral question that you will likely have many examples for, something simple like, tell me about a time you enhanced an already complex program.

Hi Jeff, how would you answer the question: "You are going for a long vacation. What all steps will you perform? How will you ensure that everything goes smooth in your absence?"
@jeffhsipepi Жыл бұрын
@HemantKumar-mn7bv, I would definitely use CFAS to answer this question. I assumed the role of Program Manager to answer this question: Clarify: A few concepts we should focus on are: Are there ongoing projects or initiatives that need immediate attention during my absence? Is there a deputy or colleague I can delegate my responsibilities to in my absence? Do you have any preferred communication channels for emergencies while I'm on vacation? Would you want a comprehensive handover document prepared before I leave? Should I be available for remote check-ins during the vacation? Framework: A few concepts we should focus on before solving are: Communication Delegation Documentation Monitoring Feedback Contingencies Duration Prioritization Assumptions: Speaking from the perspective of a Program Manager, let's make a few assumptions: There's an ongoing project with a mid-level milestone due during my vacation. A colleague, Alex, has a good understanding of my projects and can act as my deputy. We have a project management tool in place, like Jira, to monitor project progress. The vacation duration is three weeks. Regular weekly team meetings occur, which I usually lead. Solution: let’s solve by focusing on Communication and Delegation. Solution #1: Ensuring proper communication is key. Before leaving, I'd call for a meeting with my team and stakeholders, briefing them on my absence. Here, I'd set expectations and communicate potential challenges foreseen. Also, I'd identify critical points of contact and ensure they have my emergency contact details. Simultaneously, delegating my responsibilities to Alex will be crucial. Alex would be responsible for leading the weekly meetings and addressing any urgent issues. We'd spend time together going over all project details, risks, and strategies. With Alex's expertise, I'm confident of a seamless transition during my absence. Would you like to focus more on Documentation and Monitoring or would you like to discuss Feedback? Solution #2: Focusing on Documentation and Monitoring: Before my vacation, I'd prepare a detailed handover document outlining ongoing projects, critical milestones, potential risks, and mitigation plans. This document would be accessible to all relevant team members and stakeholders, ensuring everyone is aligned. Using tools like Jira, I'd set up monitoring alerts that send notifications if a task is overdue or a project is off track. This real-time monitoring will empower Alex and the team to address any issues promptly. Would you like to focus more on Feedback and Contingencies or would you like to discuss Duration? Solution #3: Diving into potential success metrics/measurements, a crucial aspect to consider is how effectively the team can address issues in my absence. To measure this, we can track the number of escalated issues and compare it to regular intervals. Moreover, feedback from stakeholders post-vacation would be invaluable. Their perspective on how smoothly operations went can serve as a qualitative metric. In terms of contingencies, a plan will be set where team members can reach out to senior management if an issue arises beyond Alex's capacity. This plan ensures continuity of operations irrespective of the challenges faced. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information for you.
