It’s super unfortunate that Tracy ended up going down a rough path. It’s like they used him for details but did nothing to make sure he could work through the trauma. He should’ve at least been given some kinda reward, a place to stay and a lifetime of therapy. He literally helped get a serial killer off the streets.

He received ton of money from these interviews. Rights from countless movies and book deals. He lived comfortable for a decade but his drug addiction took all he has earned. He became homeless recently and got charged for killing another homeless man last yeat

@@Bela66699 you’re full of misinformation. Talk shows etc. don’t pay for interviews for one- and he killed a man in 2011, served time and disappeared ever since, and has been homeless since 2002. His PTSD and a life of trauma and lack of resources I’m sure is what lead to his addiction issues. Get your facts right, all you have to do is a Google search. 🙄

@@incognitoyo8606 Talk show do pay guests but not a lot. Sometimes the guests don't require payment since the best outcome after an interview is really the exposure. Oh and he had a criminal record even before he met Jeff. He had been indicted for the sexual battery of a 14-year-old girl. After his name and face started popping up thanks to the Dahmer trial, he was extradited back to the South where he faced charges. The rest you already know.

Imagine being dumb enough to hand a potential murder victim back to the murderer he escaped from, where he ends up being murdered. That's literally the exact opposite of what they're paid to do. That's like someone saying, "Your ONLY job is to not crash the car", and immediately you drive it straight into a brick wall.

To me, there is absolutely NO excuse those two cops can come up with to justify allowing a man with a story to take a child back to his apartment and subsequently killed. If the young “man” was naked and bleeding as witnesses described, it seems the obvious thing to do was get his home address and bring him home! Even if they believed JD, that he was his boyfriend whatever drove someone to run through the street, naked and bleeding should be taken seriously enough to realize that separating the two for the night was the prudent thing to do. Even the female who called the police department later that night instinctively felt something was very wrong. The sickening, racist, homophobic and lazy actions of those two are responsible for the murder of that child. They should have been prosecuted for their part in his death. The laughter on the recording is despicable.

how did Konerak get out of an apartment that should have been locked (I doubt that Dahmer didn't lock his house having a drugged and abused minor with acid on his head) and how did Konerak not scream in pain for the acid diluted in his head, after recovering from sleeping pills and not being heard or seen by anyone in the Oxford flat, but only seen in the street?

42:55 How fucked up is it for that journalist to try belittling Edwards’ experience for at one point thanking the officers for finally arresting him? There’s a million reasons for him showing gratitude and it’s commendable he would for someone doing literally the bare minimum of their job. God that got under my skin, trying to gaslight a man who barely escaped the devil. Given, Edwards wasn’t a role model in every area of his life, but he was the right guy to finally stop Dahmer and we should at least be grateful for that. Doesn’t excuse anything else he did, but in that moment in time, he deserved grace that journalist was too self absorbed to see. He was showing annoyance at the wrong guy for the wrong reasons.

Mr. & Mrs. Dahmer both had their own mental & emotional issues coupled w/rocky & failing marriage. Sadly, both parents failed their son by being emotionally absent plus didn't get him the psychiatric help early on in life tht he so badly needed. The parents were apparently in denial of his odd behaviors & chose to argue & bicker among over BS & not give him the attention he needed. Then they blatantly left him in the family home ALONE knowing he had mental issues. How sad is that?? ? Tracy hurt me in a way that ultimately lead me moving far away to another state to escape the memory of the way he traumatized me. Almost twenty years later, I'm just now discovering that he was victimized by JD. I had no idea since I tried to block out what Tracy did to me. Why Dahmer is endlessly fascinating I'm not sure. Might be the sheer evil of what he did, and his so casual, almost everyday attitude or affect towards those murders. It just seems the more you learn, the more there is to know. This is not a one-dimensional killer. This is a very detached killer with seemingly no remorse in some ways, then deep remorse in other ways. An incredibly enigmatic figure.

Jeffrey was a master manipulator. I often found myself feeling like I "liked" Jeffrey, or at least sympathized with him, related with him much more than say a Ted Bundy or a John Gacy. Because Jeffrey admitted to his crimes, he took full responsibility. Whereas a lot of the others were arrogant and put on a show, lied and tried to deflect responsibility. But the more I think about it the more I do not buy into the whole "oh if I could have turned one into a zombie I wouldn't have had to have killed another." Jeffrey liked killing. I don't care what anybody says, you don't kill 17 or more people and not like it. Jeffrey obviously got out of quite a few situations very lightly due to his manipulation, such as getting a lighter sentence when he was found guilty for sexually molesting someone, having the police hand him his victim right back to him, I kind of think somewhere deep down Jeffrey thought even after he got caught that if he admitted to everything and played his charm they would let him back out. Whether or not he admitted to anything he was going to get the same sentence. But I really do think he thought maybe he could go free or to a hospital. He enjoyed killing. Whether or not he wanted to or not, like say a alcoholic "not wanting" to have another drink but doing it anyway. In the same way they know they shouldn't have another drink, Jeffery knew he should not kill again, but he did anyway because he liked it. All that BS "I just wanna cuddle". Naww. Jeff dug deep into a side most of us have, but not all let out. He let it out. And he liked it.

This video really showcases the differences between the demeanor of the victim's families and the outside people listening to the case (audience, other citizens) vs. the white people that "knew" Dahmer. I'd go as far to say that I don't think they knew him at all. That’s because there are two sides to this story, a human brain isn’t black and white it’s a complex issue that needs to be talked about. You assume that a perpetrator can’t also be a victim at the same time? Dhamer was very much a victim of his father his mom and his circumstances. It may not excuse his inhumane actions but if you don’t believe that a persons childhood and nurture doesn’t affect them later in life then your dead wrong. Do some research on this man’s psychology and he was messed up, this kid had absolutely 100% chance of turning out fine had he been raised in a better household environment and with people who actually cared about his emotional well-being enough to get him the help that he needed. None of this would’ve happened.

@@SweetJeopardywell the boyfriend probably wasn’t wrong about the sexual abuse part, Lionel did claim to the fbi agent that Jeff was assaulted by some “mysterious neighbor” when he was just 8 years old. I have no reason to believe that’s false considering the fact that the dad was so insisting on sharing this information with the police at first, but then later to deny it ever happening in multiple interviews and even his own book. Maybe it’s not the dad who hurt his son I don’t want to spread rumors or false information Maybe it was someone else and he doesn’t want to talk about it, either way something is off about the father and I don’t like it.
