It’s possible you could be a non-secretor (as am i) which the Blood Type Diet covers. Type A non-secretors can tolerate more red meats such as lamb and mutton, and it is said they’re more likely to be more prone to insulin and blood sugar problems from the literature. Newcomers to this diet concept often forget that it’s about biochemical individuality. Your genes still play a role as well as blood type. It is understandable you would feel better eating more meat than plants if you have some sort of carbohydrate metabolism problem in your case. But doesn’t discount improvements many others have made that do not possess this genetic problem. Beef is still reacting to your blood even if you are type A and regardless of secretor status, but the symptoms may not always show till years later when your body starts struggling to cope with the buildup of toxins which is different for everybody. I may be a fast reactor, you slow. You may find your blood sugar even stabilises just by removing the avoids whilst still eating mostly plants. I have heard of a case happening following the type A diet and recovering from their diabetes diagnosis.

Caucasian A+ here. I found it impossible as a child to swallow meat especially beef! Very awkward not wanting to offend my mother at Sunday lunch roast beef. I chose to become vegetarian at 16 as soon as I prepared my own meals. I've been vegan on and off and now eat eggs but no dairy. I'm 67 now and never missed eating meat. I'm amazed how I fit the diet without ever having heard of this before. I've always been interested in nutrition.

Hello Dr Jeffrey. good talk on a diet. I have been on the diet since 2020, 24 years. I will be on this diet for the rest of my life. I am an a. Yes, you are so right. I know if I eat potatoes my gut isn't quiet. I know myself so well and so going against my diet is just not worth the 10 minutes I ate it and then suffer the rest of the day and also gain weight. When my husband thought he was an o would eat meat and potatoes, he would soon need an Alka-Seltzer, and many times go throw up the food because the acid reflux so strong the valve wouldn't open up to allow the foods to go down. We'll when he had knee surgery at the age of 68, I asked for his blood type reading . I was floored, he was an a. He complied with the diet a, eating like an a from that day forward. He never had and Alka seltzer or threw up ever again plus lost over 20 pounds losing his large stomach. I am always sharing the truth of the diet but so many poop the diet. Thank you for your heart. i am Caucasian ,69 so thank full to my Lord I gave the diet a go sincerly , jeanelle norris

I’m so surprised at the food list for type A blood. Incredibly these are the foods that I typically and naturally tend to choose. I feel sick if I eat certain meats ( I feel intoxicated if I eat bacon and red meat basically). Always loved some chicken, fish, and absolutely fresh veggies. Also I prefer more salty/ tasty foods and less sugary foods. Not sure if thats related to blood A . Never struggled with weight at all. Never.

Same here I’m A+ - I love coconut water and coconut milk. I replaced heavy cream in recipes with coconut milk. I also started adding it to rice when cooking, and sometimes I even bake with it too. Coconut water has tons of electrolytes, hydrates you BETTER than just water (in my bodily opinion) and it’s good because it’s slightly sweet (keeps you from drinking sugary juices or soda). I use it like Gatorade after I workout. I believe it actually contributed to my weight loss. We may just be able to process the coconut individually, idk, but thank goodness we have a channel where we can talk discuss our journeys through wellness. Hope you’re doing well ✌🏾👍🏾🙏🏾

@jeffreybuttsdds
@jeffreybuttsdds Жыл бұрын
I had to look this question up. Hispanic people on average have 6.2%African ancestry, 65%European ancestry and 18%Native American ancestry. So in this context Hispanics would follow more of the Caucasian blood type diet. For mixed race, follow the genetic make up and eat mostly in the way of the genetic majority.

I also have trouble giving up potatoes. I seem to be able to handle them just fine. Curious -- when you eat your 'treat' over the weekend -- are there any negative effects for you? Bloating, low energy, tummy ache, etc? I'm on day 5 of this diet and had a half a ham sandwich last night -- big no no, and my stomach is not super happy this morning.
@angiepurpleyoda
@angiepurpleyoda Жыл бұрын
@@NikoleHuber Well I notice a difference when I'm strictly eating for my blood type and suddenly I 'cheat'. I can feel inflammation and just overall grogginess, laziness, etc. I notice if I eat twice a day for my bloodtype then I have something that is not, it doesn't affect me as much. Long as you have detox moments you should be able to eat what you want at least 2-3 times a week without it being detrimental to you. If I eat something I know is against my bloodtype, I mix it with something that is for my blootype and have more of it. When I'm cooking and have a craving for something that is not, I make sides or I include more things that are for my blood type. I eat what I want on the weekend, but I don't overdo it. I still juice and drink tea. During my cycle I don't care as long as I'm comforted by what I eat. I do drink more beet juice. I make up for it the next 3 weeks by eating better 😁 It helps to have regular bowel movements as well to get the bad things out of your body.

When I was 17, I stopped eating meat, I never liked it, especially beef. My mom made us eat liver now and then. I dreaded it and would swallow it whole with milk. I ate mainly vegetarian for ten years, and never had weight problems, naturally very lean. Fast forward 50 years, overweight, still generally healthy as I've always had a healthy diet, just eating the wrong foods for my A- blood type. I went back to vegetarian, eating mainly fish for meat and tofu to get protein, very little cheese, no milk and some fruit, berries. I've lost 18 pounds without even trying, have about 5 more pounds to go to get to ideal weight. My body knew what I needed before I was even aware of this blood type diet. Thanks for sharing this informative video!

Humm I am A+ I have been on the carnivore diet. Basically meat, eggs, real cheese, and salt. I feel fantastic so far. I have even lost weight.

You are probably on the right track. I watched a metabolism expert who put to the test all three blood types and the specified diet and noticed that it only worked for half the people not all.

Last September I went on carnivore excluding dairy. One month I lost about 7kg. And I did bloodwork after that. Everything was great except my cholesterol was through the sky and acid ofcause. At 40 I'm starting to notice more reaction from my meals including anything dairy, white flour, potatoes, cabbage, banana, orange, fish etc. At a certain point as a type A you will have to be very selective.

I was told by a doctor to eat a keto or paleo diet but being on it for 3 months I've noticed I was feeling sick most of the time so this week I've switched to plant based deit and I've noticed my digestion is improved after 2 days and my energy is getting progressively better. I am eating more fruit in the morning and potatoes and cooked veggies at night time with the dash of nuts here and there. It's a huge change and it's been literally 4 days.

Perhaps put yourself on a program that includes morning sunlight if possible. If you’re being detailed in ur gut problem investigation a stool test may lend more information to why there’s a gut problem with you. Please keep me informed.

I have been on and off this type A diet for years! It definitely has some truth. I have learned what I can eat. I struggle with inflammation and arthritis. I was on Keto diet and it was way too much protein for me. I think you know what you crave and what you dislike. I have always loved veggies. My husband is type O and a true carnivore and hates anything green! I cook two separate meals almost everyday. He is 81, I am 72 and we are not taking any prescriptions. We have never been over weight. Give it a try, it will work!

I have an issue with arthritis as well. I’m only 36 but I’ve learned over the years what my body reacts to. It’s interesting my body has already told me to be more keto/ eat more fishes/and cut down dairy over the years

Very interesting! I'm an A+ blood type and three times in my life I got terrible food poisoning from eating ham and ever since I want nothing to do with it. Now, I'm wondering if it was food poisoning or my body just rejecting it because it knew it was toxic for me.

A+ Caucasian here. I've always felt better on mostly veggies and fruits. I remember as a child, whenever I was sick, they'd bring me soup in bed...Beef and Barley. I HATED it...I would spit out the beef into a napkin and try to hide it. Then as an adult, I would always marinate steak with something like teriyaki, in order to disguise the taste. It always tasted 'off'. Even venison tastes off. One weekend, before a long road trip, I had two events to go to. I was eating gluten free at the time: I ate prime rib and salad on Saturday and steak tips and salad on Sunday. By Thursday, I was in SO MUCH PAIN and my stomach was so bloated, looked like I was 5-6 months pregnant. Took a few more days to pass that through my system and start to feel better. Obviously, my body has been telling me all along NOT to eat it!!🤦‍♀

I always hated beef too! The O+ in my family can't do without it. I ate beef chili the other night & regretted it so much, I had so much bloating & couldn't sleep.

I have lived by this book for years and it still applies for me but the four body types in Chinese medicine take you into a deeper dive because it is determined by the organ that governs your body. Vegetarian works for me and my gut.

I'm an A+ and I thrive on a carnivore, low carb diet. I only eat nutrient dense vegetables. When I eat too many vegetables I get sick! I eat Bison because it is a more nutrient dense meat. So everything you tell As to eat is like poison for me!

This is what researchers are missing out on individualised diet. People can have same condition but react differently to various diets. The missing piece usually is the blood type and diet. Good presentation 👍

Caucasian A+ I'm getting back to the blood type diet now, having gained 10lb this year. I deal with cravings & a lot of hunger pangs sometimes even when I've just eaten. When I learned I was gluten intolerant about 20 years ago, it was hard to track that and the type A diet too so I dropped the blood type diet. Hopping back on the wagon now in hopes of greater health and balance. I wrote out the lists of my favorite beneficials and neutrals & posted them on my fridge. Looking forward to feeling and doing BETTER!
