Very nice video. I found amazing how well that transposed lick (i.e. on the dominant substitue) sounds superimposed on the original dominant. I was aware of these concepts but never saw such a clear and good example.

Hey Jeff! Your KZbin Website is the Bomb!! I really appreciate your knowledge and your non-"I know it all approach" to sharing your experience to jazz. You're a fresh of breath air to people like me who have been stuck in a rut for way too many years. Keep up the great sharing of knowledge. I totally appreciate it! Do you do online lessons? Michael

Hi Michael! Thank you so much. Yes, I do online lessons. Email me at JeffSchneiderMusic@gmail.com to set them up!

That's funny how you have really captured a defining Bird's 'sound' in just a couple of chords. I mean this is the right use of licks: you start an 'imitation' of someone's voice but go on saying some new things. You also have a very nice sound on your instrument. Well done! To expand on the BeBop musical concepts I would also consider Gillespie's licks based on his compositions such as Wee (Allen's Alley), Con Alma, Birk's Work, Dizzy Atmosphere...

Thanks for clarifying Jeff. You're right, learning the concert key will help you become better. Guess I gotta keep watching.
@FrankSax777 жыл бұрын
It is SO handy to be able to think Concert key when needed, like band practice with pianists and guitar players. And if there's a trumpet and an alto, you can Talk Concert Notes back and forth with no confusion. It's musical Esperanto.
