Soooo true .... Jehan should do a bit on "Sri Lankan time", with elaborations on " I'll come like - tak and patas"
@drsamthefrog8 жыл бұрын
Honestly, "The Moment" is usually the point at which the cutlets and pattis that are laid out are actually piping hot from the fryer or oven (as opposed to when your guests on Brown Time actually arrive and they are lukewarm). So there's generally a lot of "Meh, meh! You children! Don't eat all the pattis and cutlets!!"

Dinner party at my grandma's place, all the covers on the chairs come off and they look as new as when they bought them 20 years ago! And there's so much food!! What happens in "the Moment" in my family EVERYTIME is that my father wears an old sarong or a torn up towel from out of nowhere, wraps it around his waist and walk around the house checking what else is there to be done before the guests arrive. Eer...you should get dressed?! If you are lucky he would be brushing his teeth while doing this!!! And just as the guests are at the gate he would run into the bathroom! We've even had early guests who had witnessed this "Phenomena" !!! - the Sathiworld

we have pets, so it is always a 'discussion' about what to do with them. "Where is the bloody dog? Put the dog at the back! No, she'll be fine" or "Find that bloody cat, men. Useless bloody children - find the bloody cat! Don't put her out!"
