Living in a small town in Nebraska I don’t get to encounter the folks out on the streets or knocking on my door; peddling their false information. So I’m live vicariously through you and others like you who are championing truth. I was once an indoctrinated Christian and know firsthand how deep this cognitive dissonance can influence your judgement. Most everything that I regret in my life is from the time that I was a Christian. I once told my dying gay uncle that he needed to repent and accept Christ into his heart. He responded to me with only his loving smile that still reminds to me of what an asshole I was. I’m telling you this because it was someone like you who finally made me realize how ridiculous I was and if it wasn’t for him and other atheists; I would still be in that fog. I bet you don’t hear people saying “thank you” very often. So, I would like to thank you in honor of the people who helped me get where I am today in being a better person. Thank you

But one thing has always bothered me ever since i was in the organization, and because no one could give me an actuall answer i started to research on my own which is why i learned about science and how the world actually works. Anyways, those guys dont believe in souls, but rather they believe that god has perfect memory so when the day of ressurection comes god will just recreate you again just as you were before you died.. But... I cant believe i was the only one who saw how this didnt make sense out of my entire family. RIght now i can just use printer and recreate some document, but that isnt the original document. If god were to recreate me from his memory (no matter how perfect it was), that would just be a copy of me and not real me! I honestly dont understand how anyone in that organization can just ignore this logical knot and just carry on like a drone...

When I defeated them (by asking them when they began to get indoctrinated, age 3, right?) they went out to their car, and a man just like this guy here was sitting in the car. Then I thought it would be interesting to have them visit to see what they had to say. As they were doing their weekly obligation of proselytising they were in a group of six and I found them standing on a corner not far from my house. I asked if they would all like to come to my house for a cup of tea or coffee. One spoke up and said they would come. A little while later only one man turned up. He appologized that the others had to move on with their work I feel they may have been a little freaked out. So was I , didnt know if I had enough cups for six and also some biscuits. We chatted for about half an hour in that circular manner they use to justify God. He then thanked me and I said he was welcome to call me anytime or phone but I would never call him. He stayed in touch weekly for about a month then I heard from him no more.

It is true that channels that focus on one theme does better, but at the same time convenient etc to have it all in one place. I'd just prefer to have it all in one place so I don't have to sub to another channel, but then I might not be interested enough to sub to it. And that is also what can make people leave or not sub cause they find it annoying to get videos they're not interested in. Especially when it's a change. But that's just hypotheticals. Think of the bible as you would a map of the Appalachian trail. Just like a map, the bible can show you the way, but also it's extremely important to realize that looking at a MAP. Versus the experience of walking down a trail which is a completely different thing. No map will show you the sunlight on your face or help you feel the water running through a river you must cross. No map will show you how cold the rain will feel or how hungry you'll be at times. The experience of the trail cannot be mapped. Also the more zoomed out a map is, the less detail you'll see. As our mapping technology has improved so has our maps. The bible is an old map written by people with very limited mapping skills but it still . . . perhaps . . . the bible is a map... and that lady is still stumbling along down the same old path as us. She might just be staring at her old map as opposed to experience trail beneath her feet.

Things are better. Tell the person who lived through the Holocaust or world wars things are worse. Even with technology, for example, you're able to spew your thoughts on a device to potentially millions of people almost anywhere. Medically, we live in an age where they can see things going on with you before they potentially kill you. Hell, I remember when heart attacks almost meant a death sentence. Not now. The fact is, Christianity has to make things seem worse to sell it's snake oil to people. Invent a problem; invent the cure. Oldest scam in the book.

@@TedTheAtheist tell him what he's won bob....... Great dialog. I don't forsee a future inwhich that dialog will not find a place( in our lifetime) Which is why we need people like you to keep having them. I have so much appreciation for people like you who have the patience to entertain people like them given the progress the scientific method has enlightened us over the last few hundred years. We must promote critical thinking in public education if we are to continue a trend of understanding reality with reasonable confidence. Humanity constantly finds itself at " A FORK IN THE ROAD" at which it may gravitate " ONE WAY OR AN OTHER " regarding the unmolested pursuit of what reality is. I keep the popcorn ready while people with your fortitude put forth the taxing endeavor of documenting/pushing back on the "EB AND FLOW" on the struggle Humanity experiences on absorbing the nuances of what is comfortable and what is rationally known Keep up the great content Ted

Just saying…Jesus of Nazareth did exist, as the evidence in historical documents proves, from Roman and Jewish historians to followers of Jesus who you would call biased probably, but the evidence is very strong and can’t be denied. The question should be, is this real person, Jesus (Yeshua), Mad, delusional or was he telling the truth by claiming to be The Messiah and God. That’s the faith question. Take it or leave it, but “Jesus” did exist as a person and was executed on a Roman torture cross beam.

We have nothing substantial that supports the existence of Jesus ever in history. Even if we did assume he existed, all we can really think, at max, is that he was just a human with beliefs.. nothing more than that. No historian living during Jesus' supposed lifetime ever wrote about him. Anything written about him was well after his supposed existence. So please, stop referring to vague sources. Do your homework. Saying "The evidence is very strong" and only vaguely referring to stuff instead of anything specific is kind of laughable. So yea, it makes no sense to go around saying that he existed for sure, Any questions, my young Padawan?

@@JUDAH927 Jesus is a fictitious character from a bad story. If you actually think he's real, today somewhere, you are delusional.. if he even ever existed. No, we won't face anyone after we die - because we'll be dead.
