Marble Race: Marble League 2022 Friendly Round | Jelle's Marble Runs
This time we return to The Pond for the friendly round! The qualifiers are done and dusted, we know who's going to the main league and who's going to the Showdown! But are not ready yet, as we need to see what the auto-qualified teams can do in this friendly round!
No actual prize for the winners here, rather to show their capabilities, strength and basically show off to their fans!
There is more! ML22 Showdown will feature 16 teams in stead of 12, and we added the brand new team "Wolfpack", brought back "Team Plasma" and the "Black Jacks", and a first appearance for the "Purple Rockets"! These four expansion teams will go straight to showdown, no qualifiers for them, but there will be a Showdown practice for them, get to know the events, and compete on equal terms with the rest of the field!

Besides hurdles which the showdown marbles dominated at, you can tell the skill and preparation differences between marble league and showdown marbles. It takes a lot of skill and effort to make the marble league and this just proves it! #RaiseTheBar 🍫

Purple Rockets had the third best time, really nice. only beaten by Minty Maniacs and Pinkies in the qualifying. Funnily the Pinkies also are the only ones to beat the Green Ducks in balancing. Really good performance from the Pinkies! Friendly triathlon times are ludicrous, the Gliding Glaciers came in third and still beat any team of qualifying and showdown!

There's so many teams now, that for next year perhaps you could consider: Removing the classification system & showdown and instead doing two shorter leagues, for two separate divisions A and B decided at an initial random draw, that would award two titles of Division Champions And after that there would be a second phase, where 8 teams (top 4 of each division) would compete in a much shorter league for the title of Mega Champions of that year

The 4 teams automatically relegated to the showdown retained their original roster, but Team Plasma had a manager change as well as Black Jacks.

Great to see Team Plasma doing well, too bad it's not for 'real' though. Looking forward to the main tournament! And btw, thanks for the way you did the qualifiers, because i always like to pit Team Galactic against the Hazers, and they went head to head throughout the qualifiers and even winning from them. Then again, the Hazers did so poorly that they didn't even qualify, which is also kind of a pity, but it made room for the Pinkies. So, this season will have 12 teams then? Considering the next event is the start of the tournament, or are there 4 wildcards joining in? Just putting it out there, my ideal roster (of 16) would be, Team Galactic, Team Plasma (2022), Solar Flares, Indigo Stars, Quicksilvers, Gliding Glaciers, Oceanics, Kobalts, Turtle Sliders, Purple Rockets, Golden Orbs, Jungle Jumpers, Shining Swarm, Limers, Minty Maniacs and the Hazers.

Shining Swarm and Snowballs manage to score points in every single event. Rojo Rollers and Snowballs were good enough for top 16 but didn't manage to pull it through in the qualifying, Rojo Rollers even end up in top 8! On the other side Midnight Wisps and Savage Speeders were bottom 16 but managed to qualify thanks to the different system. Raspberry Racers had a poor performance as the worst team in Marble League, lucky they were prequalified. On the other side Team Plasma was good enough for 12th but is stuck in showdown. Jungle Jumpers are the only team that did not reach top 16 in any event, Wolfpack and Oceanics both got a 16th in one event each but that still doesn't net them any point.

I know you try to keep the videos short and tight, but I really wish Greg Woods would have more of an intro at the beginning, explaining the event and its importance (i.e.: "This is the friendly round between the four teams that are auto-qualified for ML22. Green Ducks are the host team; and Mellow Yellow, Raspberry Racers, and Gliding Glaciers placed Gold, Silver, and Bronze respectively in ML 21. They will join the 12 teams that made it through last week's Qualifiers. The ML22 will have a total of 16 teams competing.") Maybe even have a "flashback" to the podium from ML 21 during the overview. In a related request, I don't understand what the last part was, with the 4 "new" teams. Do they auto-qualify too? Can Greg spend a little more time explaining it to the viewers? And also introducing the teams. Thx! PS, I'm not asking for an answer here in the comments; I'm asking for Greg to spend a few minutes explaining things in the videos, like a commentator would normally do.

I've been a viewer since John Rolliver sponsored this Channel, and thank the JMRC for the excellent content provided since. I revisited the #ML2020 and #ML2021 closing ceremonies in anticipation of #ML2022, and want to ask: If the #ML2022 Closing Ceremony is yet to be filmed, would the JMRC consider using a strainer - in a manner similar to how one would powder a cake with sugar - to better spread out the confetti on the Top 3 Teams' Athletes? I look forward to E1 and beyond, and seeing many ML Records being broken! -Rojo Randy.
