Ever since I've got Mualani the game has been an ABSOLUTE breeze for me. I love her design, her voicelines and kit and I personally think she is very fun to play. I nuke bosses I usually had trouble with, can kill groups of enemies within a few seconds and she's just absolutely busted for me and I don't even c1 or have her signature weapon. Personally she is an absolute pull and she is very worth learning. I run her with xilonen, sucrose and xiangling in a vape team.

What they need to do is remove the stupid turn that her shark does during her burst animation and just make it a straight line projectile instead of parabolic.

Mualani absolutely slaps when you have to deal with enemies that do not move to much but when you have bastards that keep jumping around and running from you she's a bit hard to use. She will be back when the abyss will be more favorable for her.

I knew I could win with her but that scorpion was annoying with its rush attack and the bird when it flew up. Good thing Mualani can sometimes pursue during the bite. Had to keep experimenting with Nahida, Kazuha, Yelan, or Zhongli. Go full glass cannon or resist interruption(+petrified to settle them down)? I was so frustrated I forgot which team actually worked. It was probably Yelan, Xiangling, Xilonen.

It feels like mualani will end up in a similar place to Lyney incredible DPS on paper and in speed runs, but inconsistent or annoying to play. I feel like ranking her above Arlecchino doesn’t make sense based on the reasons you still have Nevilette at the top of the list, ie on sheet dps mattering less than comfort, ease of use, consistency, flexibility, etc.

not really, the difference is that Lyney just needs such tight timings and good RNG while Mualani just appreciates enemies that dont fly or have immunity frames. Mualani's DPS is always sheeted as 3 bites and a burst, and sure, missing 1 bite does lower her DPS by a TON but you dont encounter those situations very much

yes, on my alt account I just run her+Kuki+XQ+ whatever. I even use a level 20 barbara with +20 artifacts for hydro app and I can finish her side of the abyys everytime, not so much the otherside because I lack characters and better artifacts.

There are plenty hated using XL for mualani, you need above 250ER and that doesn't guarantee Gouba consistently gets all the hits for particles because there are cases when they move away or even dies before Gouba able to generate enough particle to refund XL.

META - Most EFFICIENT tactic available If this chart was made by polling speedrunners Mualani would likely be on top as she is the fastest. However this is chart for everyday players where most efficient means "least effort for maximum result" and that's Neuvillette. Regular people don't want to reset a bunch of times because of a character with janky gameplay just so they could shave a few seconds off of their clear time if both clear times are under 3 minutes. Most people don't see abyss as a challenge anymore, its just a monthly chore you do for primogems. Me, personally i do it same day it resets in less than 15 minutes, now less than 10 minutes bc they made floors 9 and 10 auto complete (thank god). Why would I, or any other regular player choose to spend an hour on that chore instead, trying to get a slightly better clear time? Not to mention the amount of extra effort you need to put into Mualani compared to Neuvillette to get the same results. Its not very EFFICIENT if you ask me. Why do y'all keep forgetting what E in META stands for again? If it was just about speed it would be TFTA - The Fastest Tactic Available. I mean imagine you need to wash the dishes. You have a dishwasher and it will wash 'em in 10 mins for you. But every once in a while, if everything goes right, you can do it manually in 9 minutes. Would you wash your dishes manually every day because you can wash 'em faster than the machine 15% of the days, or would you just use the dishwasher?

I like trying to clear with none meta teams and don't feel like it's still chore. I have a very wide account and will very often reach for an Ayaka or Itto team. This abyss my first full star run was Noelle on one side Itto on the other. I find no enjoyment in only focusing on meta.

Mualani has low usage rate for the same reason zhongli has high usage rate, and that's because a lot of people have skill issues and can't play non-braindead characters. Mualani has the fastest clear times in abyss on all investment levels, she is just harder to use than other on fielders.

Saying that a unit can speedrun fastest with cracked artifacts does not prove that the character functions better, you need to look at what the character offers on a base level not the ceiling. Now I understand that's a taller task than just comparing numbers, but Genshin is not just about biggest number best numerous things go into, is the rotations smooth, are they easy to execute, does the character functions in a variety of situations and so on

DPS ceiling doesn't really matter as long as your damage is good enough, and comfort will always be the priority. You can see this with how Zhongli's usage rate never drops, especially in teams where people have Neuvilette or Arlecchino-both of them hit hard and don't need much to 36* the abyss. Honestly, I doubt Zhongli's going anywhere even next abyss he's still going to be high, especially now with people running Xilonen as a Kazuha replacement instead of a healer support. Also Mualani is low because of how she plays no matter how much dmg a character can do if the playstyle isn't that intuitive then it will go down in the usage rate.

i have a friend say about mualani that they like her as a character, but absolutely hate her gameplay. It would make sense mualani has less usage rate in relation to her theoretical numbers as majority of the players are casuals so it would tend to where the norm is, and not where the 1% of players are (the try hards, people who actually know how to set-up proper rotations and willing to reset).

Seems super fun for overworld, but missing the set up seems to be more punishing than it is for other top DPSs because she's so reliant on that nuke damage. Neuvi's more consistent, a lot of people got C1 on his rerun, and he also has self-sustain capabilities that Mualani doesn't have which is an added comfort. This Abyss also is really not catered to her as it is to geo.

I would say mualani got a bit of that good ol' eula backlash (missing crits), because you actually lose SO much of your dmg by doing your rotations slightly wrong (missing vapes and/or crits) coupled with the fact using xl bennettless is a complete ER nightmare and the usage rates suddenly makes sense to me. A fun fact from the speedruning side of things The fastest recorded run of the topside of this spiral abyss, at the time of writting, is surprisingly not a Mualani vape team (which some players got 14s), but it is instead a Neuvillete Childe Xilonen Chiori team with 13s.

I mean this is the case for Mualani, cause a lot of people watch mostly whales pulling her c6r5, shes doing chambers in 3-4seconds, and they think they can do same. Before I get mualani glazers going after me, I agree shes best speedrunner, but thats doesnt result in = best dps or best character. Best character in the game is arguably Furina by a long shot, and best dps as you take a lot of metrics in consideration before you name a character best dps is arguably Neuvillete. I play all of these 3 "best dps" arlecchino,mualani,neuvillete. Neuvillete does not compete in overall speedrun, but blows both of them when it comes to kit wise and the pros he has and almost no con (interrupt resistance at c0 might be a con if you dont run a shield) and kinda thats it.

Love Mulani a bunch, but as someone who *hates* using Xiangling, I did feel like I wouldn't really enjoy her until after the pyro archeon showed up. That said, I did find a team for me that works. Not as powerful, obvs, but still very good. It's Mulani/Dehya/Xilonan/Lynette. Because Lynette swirls with pryo after Dehya's e hits Lynette's burst, so Mulani has all the pyro app she needs to vape. Again, not as strong as if I just used Xiangling, but as someone who doesn't personally find the chef fun, this was a great discovery for me

No you don't. Both the geo in the banner aren't good shield breakers. You just need to use a really good claymore user. Unlike other abyss enemies that really force you to pull certain elements otherwise you would have a really bad time. Like Pyro Lectors (hydro), Icewind Suite (pyro), Baptist (dendro).

I was on the fence and pulled Mualani late despite everyone mentioning the clunkiness. I borrowed her for a few rounds in Imaginarium and didn't think it was that bad. Oops. She has been INFURIATING in daily use on my overworld friendship team. At this point I don't know if I will ever bring her to Abyss, as I just can't be bothered with her shenanigans. As a Mualani main, I absolutely adore her! I don’t in anyway feel she’s too clunky for the abyss. In fact she is how stronger characters should be IMO, higher skill higher reward. The main prob is Grandpa Neuvillette. Why take effort with Mualani when you can just power wash simulator?? On top of getting nerfed (she can’t out class Neuvillette) she was released with a buggy kit. Her missing bites left people not liking her, now they’re fixed but the damage is done… Unfortunately for Mualani she will never rise up, even with the archon released. She will never be in the “S” tier. People would rather take less effort instead of trying to actually get better with Mualani.. Facts. Does this make me want to stop running her? Hell no! In fact I adore her even more. No other character has brought me this joy in Genshin. I feel like my skill level has grown because of Mualani. My attitude and appreciation for Genshin has improved because of Mualani. Furthermore the feeling of satisfaction I get from winning is x10 greater with Mualani, because I actually had to try. While others may love spinning to win or playing effortlessly with one hand on the controller because the play style takes no effort, sorry Kinich. I’d much rather have my sharky girl any day! Catch an epic wave!

As a f2p I had a really rough time getting 36 stars this time around. Team 1: Neuvi Furina Kachina Kazuha Team 2: Kinich Bennett Yao Yao Dehya I don't have any good/built geo characters (I only have Noelle, Ningguang, Goro and Yun Jin) This abyss was brutal for me to clear. Luckily I was able to buff the main DPS of each team by a pretty significant amount. I cleared Floor 12 Chamber 3 with 0 seconds to spare lol Kinich pulled through big time and Dehya was good enough for breaking that Centaur's shield just off the fact that she's a claymore user that can mitigate damage when he strikes. Overall a challenging abyss. Took me a few hours to clear but I feel accomplished

Closed 12 floor and got all stars with these teams: 1. Tartaglia national 2. Zhongli, Arlecchino, Furina, Kachina. I think Tartaglia got so low not because this abyss is not for him, I didn't feel it, he was great, but because the other best teams in the game uses Kazuha and Bennet, so, basically, he was left without his teammates 😕 hope, Mavuika will help him to get a new good team (and maybe Ororon, because I still remember good old days when Tartaglia’s Taser was great)

I love using Mualani in domains and in the overworld, but the idea of accidentally wasting her nightsoul points to chase new enemies spawning across the room when I'm trying to clear in time can make her rotation wonky and for me it isn't worth resetting the clock, so I end up not using her because other teams can clear without knowing where and how the enemies are going to spawn. I'm hoping Mavuika replacing Xiangling on the teams that use her may end up solving this problem with hopefully easier and stronger off field dmg

C0R1 Mualani haver here. Using Mualani + Dehya C0 with sac + Xiangling C6 with fork +Xilonen C0 with fav. Very comfortable team for this abbyss. After about 10+ hours of running her in different combats can say that she is much better now with Xilonen and her fixes. She still lacks consistent pyro application, so Mavuika still feels necessary

oh, and I don't use her for ANY enemies that have too much i-frames and even slightly a bit flying above ground, like the "Perpetual Mechanical Array". Mualani can completely miss her nuke attacks on these enemies. +shields are making life very difficult for her.

i have mualani and i can't see myself using her. I literally spent all the resin and fragile resin since natlan came out to farm artifacts for her and i don't even have good flower or feather. This domain is absolutely cursed. It doesn't help that she's hard locked to crit dmg circlet which makes it twice as hard to find. Will probably use her regardless when there's pyro applier that doesn't feel clunky with her.

Aside from the initial week of figuring her out, I haven't had any issues with Mualani and never need to reset. That said, she's been quarantined to the overworld because she trivializes the abyss to such an insane degree that it saps all the fun out of it. Feels like I'm playing a new game tutorial with her where everything just falls over from being hit with a pool noodle. That said, no regrets because her overworld presence is peak.

As a Mualani haver, 2nd side is Geo/Overload dominated and 1st side there’s better teams for multi wave then mualani, I think she’s better off being used for single target bosses mostly

I wouldn't have gone 180 wishes deep for Mualani, but winning the 50/50 on her and then Xilonen, I don't regret getting her at all! She's very cute and fun, although I complain to my partner all the time about how clunky she is, I like that she's unique at least. I tried using her last Abyss but couldn't quite time it so I traded her out for Raiden/Xiangling/Furina/c3 Jean and nailed it. Hope I can use her in a future Abyss though

this abyss was pretty hard, maybe one of the hardest. The first half was fine infact pretty easy, I used alhaitham quickbloom with xingqui on the first half and the times were 1:25, 1:00, 56 but the second half was very challenging for me, I used arlecchino, xilonen, bennet, fischl and I could barely clear it, cleared with with 2-3 seconds left on the second chamber, around 6 seconds left on the third chamber The dps check in the first half was also pretty hard, had to switch upto neuvillete, xilonen, kazuha, fischl for the second half of the first chamber (all cO and f2p weapons like pamber, white tassel, HoD. Kazuha has xiphos though). The thing with arlecchino is that she is pretty rewarding if u play her well, dodging and stacking up bol then it feels satisfying to see the number, my arlecchino did around 85k avg, 110k highest at max stacked bol, she has white tassel r5 and artifacts, 85 cr, 200 cdmg, sig set I mean yeah I invested a lot into the artifacts but still it feels rewarding to play.

For the first time I pulled for constellation and it was kinich. So him being at C2 just help me to do 36 stars easily without any retry. 1st team - Kinich, Bennett, xiangling and furina. 2nd team - Arle, Kazuha, yelan and Zhongli. All others at C0.

the Mualani situation is interesting to me, not only she is by far mas hardest hitting character but I also didnt actually had to reset any chamber using her, so her usage rating to me is quite baffling, but then again I dont use literally any of these teams, I used Navia with Xilonem, but the other two in the team were Furina and Yelan.

I think the low Mualani usage rate might be due to low investment. If you can 1 rotate, Mualani feel absolutely amazing. However if you can’t, she is just annoying to use with XL especially.

I didn't pull her (Mulani) because I didn't like her gameplay. Surfing through the enemy to build stacks sounds fine on paper but in practice it's more of a hassle to pull off (you can miss her nuke and that feels really bad after all the setup). I do like the look of the character and her acting in the story, I am just not a fan of her kit, which was enough to make me reject spending for her (a character's kit really does matter). Anyway, good video!

as someone who pulled mualani, i like her, but she really is a pain to use. not quite as annoying as lyney, but still annoying. i think one thing holding her back is that while xilonen is a great upgrade for her, i found mualani best on first side this cycle and wanted my xilonen on second side in a navia team. while you could totally play mualani with xilonen on the second side i think xilonen's geo app isn't enough by itself and i would rather play a different team. additionally, i think a lot of ppl don't like switching builds on characters (myself included lol), so they aren't playing xiangling optimally on a mualani team with instructors and just leave her on emblem, so it's making mualani feel worse than her theoretical dmg ceiling

I'm always surprised by Mualani dmg whenever I put her in the team. She's an insane nuke for mid rotation CDs. But Neuvi is just broken. And if not Neuvi, Arle exists. I don't regret her, I just don't have a want or need to play her.

Honestly I don’t read too much into this abyss specifically because it seems to lean on the extreme end of Hoyoverse’s artificial difficulty tricks based on the floor 12s they have done this year. Like the 2 wave consecrated beast coupled with the geo checks on the second half make stuff like res shred even more important than it already is. My first clear was with Navia double hydro on first half and Alechino overload second half (chev, fischl, Beidou) I think you are right about the mualani execution stuff. The consecrated beasts move so much that it leads to a lot of resets. That said I did have a lot of success with mualani on first side in mono hydro (Xilo, Furina, kaz), and it felt really good. I am still working on her talents but overall I DONT regret her at all!! She is a great alternative for those who find Neuvi’s playstyle really boring like I do. I think from what I see, Neuvi is more comfy but Mualani is more versatile and may have a higher damage ceiling (but still unsure)

Love Mualani, its just annoying sometimes putting her team together. Also I'm tired as hell of XL so that means less reason to play Mualani. If she can just get that solid off field pyro that isn't XL I think her usage has the potential to skyrocket. Also at this point we're 4 years into the game, I've got enough characters I want to play each abyss that it really comes down to who fits most. She wasn't going to be used second half for certain, and first half consecrated beasts is VERY annoying because if Vulture flies or w/e as you switch to Mualani, you lose a very large amount of damage.

I like looking at characters like Yae miko this abyss and yoimiya last abyss and find it fascinating when they get a huge bump in usage rate. These are characters that I specifically used for these abyss runs so it feels more relatable to me because I don’t have like neuvillette, arlechinno and zhongli and I know those who don’t have every unit ever can relate more with the units lower in the tiers.

Mualanis power level is incosistent is all, like yeah she does bonkers damage but it can be incosistent depending on who shes fighting, sometimes she deletes ennemies and sometimes she struggles to even hit them

saw some people pulling 14 seconds on the first chamber with low cost mualani, went to try with mine --- 40 seconds. and she's not even weak, she's doing 500k per hit on the consacrated beasts. that about a speed run character. if you miss even a bit of damage she gets so much worse. at least this event let me have the whale experience with mualani once. with the right buffs and a kazuha buffing me, plus a hutao applying pyro, i did 1.6 million damage shark bites and a 2.8 million burst.

you dont use character's best abyss to rank them, you use an average, on average shes inconsistent. Otherwise, it would be a pointless list, of course characters are going to be good when an abyss suits them, and mulani does a lot of damage, but if she's just not good or atleast not great to use in other abyss then that's also not great.

Consitency is king when you're trying to play to the highest level. Mualani at this time is not with mobile, spread out mobs and limited pyro application options, but I used her anyway because i think they're a fun character to play. In the abyss, I just run with whatever characters I like or am having fun with at that moment, and can get a comfortable 33+ star clear every time. If I'm not hitting 36, I can live with that because the reward difference is so minimal (like an additional 10-pull every year if you don't get any 36* clears).

I use three teams this abyss Fischl, Arle, Chev and Beidou for the second side. Sigewinne, Furina, Xilonen and Neuvilette or Dehya, Emilie, Baizhu and Kinich for either sides, I’m whaling though so my teams got great cons. Regarding Mualani, she’s my biggest regret pulling. It’s a dogshow. The set-up is boring and tedious, plus the fact it doesn’t do damage and if enemies dodge the NA, uughh! Kinich is a fresh breath compared to Mualani’s rotten fish stank. I have Baizhu C2 with Tenacity and TT for him, my Emilie ic C6 R1 so the best sub dps for him and for now Dehya, I’m excited to see if Mavuika will kick her out of this team, the off-field pyro application and damage must be on point, however my Dehya is C6 and together with Baizhu’s burst my team never dies…. So dunno

I think the main reason Raiden is so consistent is just that there's so many different ways to use her. I feel like back in 2.x Electro application was really useless, with Rational being the most popular Raiden team, and Raiden hyper trailing right behind, with maybe some hardcore fans using her for Eula or something. But now we have those teams plus Hyperbloom, Overload, she's used as an enabler for Spread Tighnari, there's even random Raiden/Yelan/Furina taser-ish comps. And now with Xilonen we get another layer to hypercarry teams, so perhaps some people are using her like that.

About the Mualani and Arle situation, imo, whenever Arle is just so consistent and can be used in so many team archetypes that she's never leaving T0. But whenever Mualani works she'll be better than almost any other on-field dps And that's what happened in this abyss, there isn't really any side in which she can take advantage of her own kit so it is to be expected she'll drop dramatically in usage

in short; as long as neuvillette exists, mualani is doomed, not even in the previous abyss which benefited her more, she was used more than the dragon hydro; perhaps mavuika will save mualani from becoming in lyney hydro, but she could also end up burying mualani if mavuika gives a Neuvillette improves, we will have to wait and see what happens

Mualani is likely low because of Neuvillette exists and is owned by a huge amount of players. She's both stricter in gameplay and teams, so its really an uphill battle to use her compared to Neuvillette. Honestly doubt pyro archon will improve it unless she specifically buffs Mualani a ton.

Mualani is an absolute blast to play when the stakes are low in the overworld, but I hate resetting chambers, so she's basically an automatic pass on Abyss. This is doubly true on the second half, since resetting that means I have to redo the first half as well.

I used Mualani, Xilonen, Candace, Xiangling for first half. Consecrated Beasts are tough to play around, since they move around a lot and each have a move where they can’t be hit, which takes away time from Mualani’s Nightsoul and Xiangling’s Burst. Even with C1 on Mualani, I had to reset a few times. Then I used Neuvillette, Xilonen, Kazuha, Furina, and I blasted the entire first half away so quickly that I wonder why I didn’t bother doing that the first time.
