Gugudan’s Sejeong makes a solo comeback with the third Jelly Box project “Flower Way.”
Jelly Box is a new collaborative project started in 2016 by Jellyfish Entertainment. Jelly Box exhibits a diverse music spectrum of Jellyfish Entertainment artists, starting with Park Yoon Ha and Yoo Seung Woo’s “Summer Night Picnic” released in June, and showed Ravi’s capabilities as an artist in a collaboration with SAM&SP3CK “DamnRa” in July.
On November 23rd, Gugudan’s Sejeong, who is actively showcasing her talents on numerous broadcast programs, will show off her vocal abilities through the next Jelly Box project. The third Jelly Box track “Flower Way” was produced by Zico, a singer-songwriter and producer with a proven track record.
“Flower Way” was originally written only partially on a television program, but many requested for the official release of the full single, captured by the song’s beautiful lyrics, emotional melody and Sejeong’s warm voice. Following the show, Zico decided to produce the full song, and through his delicate producing, it was made into a beautiful healing song.
The third project “Jelly Box Flower Way (Prod. By Zico) Sejeong” is a song that starts with a melodic piano arpeggio with gentle guitar riffs and string arrangements that escalates towards the end, added to Sejeong’s sensitive vocals. Zico’s unique style of arrangement, which is characteristic in that it has a composition with the absence of drums, gave birth to a slow-tempo ballad that naturally affects the emotions.
The music video was directed by Dari and maximized the lyrical aspect of the song, with its warm colors and storyline. The use of split screens to contrast Sejeong’s childhood and present is also notable.
Jelly Box continues to break barriers by taking new attempts and tackling various genres and is developing as a representative project of Jellyfish Entertainment. Anyone who is a fan of music can look forward to the infinite musical potential of Jellyfish artists.

그리고 이번 11월 23일, 각종 예능, 방송 등에서 끼와 재능을 선보이며 사랑을 받고 있는 구구단의 세정이 젤리박스 프로젝트를 통해 보컬리스트의 면모를 선보인다. ‘믿고 듣는 아티스트’이자 최근 싱어송라이터 겸 프로듀서로서 큰 두각을 나타내고 있는 지코와 함께 세 번째 젤리박스 ‘꽃길’을 발매한다.
한 예능방송에서 일부만 제작되었던 ‘꽃길’은 아름다운 가사와 감성적인 멜로디, 따뜻한 세정의 목소리와 어우러지며 큰 감동을 주었고, 방송 후에도 많은 사람들의 음원 발매 요청이 있을 정도로 큰 사랑을 받았다. 이에 지코는 완곡 프로듀싱을 결정, 섬세한 프로듀싱을 거쳐 마침내 하나의 아름다운 힐링송으로 탄생하였다.

After watching Business Proposal, I wanted to find out more about Sejeong because of her story about her poor childhood and raised by a single mum and not knowing her father until middle school. And I read this song was about her mother that she wanted to make a road full of flowers for her mum to walk on in the future.It is amazing how multi talented she is. Despite the difficult childhood, she managed to triumph over all and still remain extremely close and loyal to her mum. Maybe the term "Flower Road" or "Flower way" should be in the title to help English audiences search for this video because all of early early search did not bring me to this video.

I've said it a lot of times, but I just wanted to say it again. Ever since I heard it the first time, I fell in love already. I've seen Sejeong since the beginning of the year, everything about her's just too real and sincere it reaches the hearts of the people. She might try hard sometimes, but I know she does not pretend. I hope she stays the same and never change. I remember I first liked her during their 'Irony' performance when she was coaching Kim Sohye. At the very first few episodes, she came off as someone who seemed to be arrogant and overconfident, but eventually proved otherwise. Skills aside, she's one of the few idols who have the magical touch that reaches people's hearts -- you can feel it here in this song. I first heard this in Talents for Sale where she sang this with Chaeyeon, and right there and then, I knew that there's more to this than just a song. The same way EXO's 'Yaksok' speaks to me, Flower Path is the same. I haven't read the lyrics of the song yet, but whenever I listen to it I feel warmth, hope, and bliss. It gives of that really warm and blissful feeling and will tug the heartstrings in your heart. Maybe because it's full of the things Sejeong wants to say, but I really am just beyond words to perfectly explain what I'm feeling... Just... thank you Sejeong. Thank you to everyone who made this song, and especially to Zico too. This is such a wonderful song.

I saw comments on twitter asking why this song charts so high that it's not even that special. The ballad song is bland and that korean people have weird taste in music. And I'm like, sit your ass down son. 'Flower road' is not your typical broken-hearted inspired kind of ballad song. If you read the english lyrics (for non korean speakers), it actually conveys how a daughter is thankful for her mom that she worked hard just so she could give what's best for her daughter (sejeong). And if you know what Sejeong went through as a child, you'd think this is such a fitting song for her. It's placed high on music charts because a lot of people can emphatize with what the lyrics is trying to convey. This ballad is a thank you song for all the parents out there who are working their ass off to provide for their child in order to give them a nice memory to look back to when they grow up. And this song is them (child) telling her parent(s) that she has become what she is now because of their unconditional love. Thus, saying "I'll only let you walk on flower road."

I feel like I'm the only one here that like Gugudan, they have talents, yes their concepts doesn't really match Sejeong, but most of I0I concept didn't match her as well. Yeah she would do really well as a solist but I think that being in a group is still important for her to become more confident and to develop her skills more, Sejeong like Gugudan's members, and I feel like being with peoples you like you help them grow and you grow too.
