He was feeling subconscious about working on his new album & if ppl would want to still listen to what he had to say or just want him to stick to what he was known for. When the Voice asked him to do the show he wanted to do something new if he went on. The reaction he got he said validated that he was still on the right path.

I was sitting here with my son when I heard this the first time and all the stuff I’ve been stuff I’ve been tossing in a box in the back of my mind that dark humor usually takes the edge off just came out and I was sitting here ugly crying. The years of law enforcement, giving cpr to a cold body because of protocol came right to the surface and since hearing this song haven’t really slept due to nightmares. It’s been a rough few days but thank God for the strength to not touch the bottle again.

Hoping you better days. I had a sudden cardiac arrest 12 years ago. I was down for 28 mins and the road to my current place has been long and very trying. I can't do a lot of the things I used to but I look at the road I have traveled and know my journey would've been to much for most.
