I wrote this from a place of pain and reflection. This is for everyone who is struggling to change and giving it everything they got. This song was written for the underdogs , the ones who have always been considered losers . Those who have lost the person that means the most to them. I love you all- you sharing these videos have changed my life. I only pray I can have an impact on your life half as good as the impact you all have had on mine 🙏

Who still bumpin this 2024
@DougTaylor-js9sk7 ай бұрын
Hell yeah, I'm still bumping this shit; it stays playing. "Asshole" by Jelly Roll is one of those songs that hit home because it feels like he's singing about my life. The raw honesty in his lyrics and the way he doesn't hold back is something I can really relate to. This song speaks to anyone who's ever felt misunderstood or judged by others while struggling with their own flaws and mistakes. The chorus, where he bluntly admits to being an asshole, captures that mix of defiance and vulnerability. It's like he's saying, "Yeah, I'm flawed, but that's who I am," which is something I feel deeply. When he sings about being a product of his environment and making mistakes he can't take back, it resonates with me on a very personal level. I've been there, feeling trapped by my past and the circumstances around me. I've learned what it's like to be judged by the decisions I've made, especially after going to prison. Working hard every day, I know the weight of those judgments. The promotion I received was a big win, but it didn't erase the struggles I've faced or the mistakes I've made. Jelly Roll's lyrics about taking responsibility for his actions and the impact of his environment hit close to home because it's a reminder that our past doesn't define our future. Listening to "Asshole" is a cathartic experience for me. It's a reminder that it's okay to be imperfect and that acknowledging my flaws is part of the journey toward self-acceptance. Whether I'm at home or spending time with my family, this song helps me feel understood and less alone. Overall, "Asshole" is more than just a song-it's a powerful expression of the struggle for self-acceptance and resilience. For someone like me, who sees a bit of their own story in Jelly Roll's words, it's a reminder that we're not alone in our battles and that embracing our imperfections is a strength, not a weakness.

I listen to this song over and over. Ok so I do that with all your songs. You and your brother always seem to speak a true that related to me and the things that I been through. The first verse hits me hard. My favorite line is " even if the good outweighs it by a million to one, they still gone hate me for that single f***in thing that I did." I am so truly grateful for you and your words. I can't even describe what your words mean to me. So thank you for being you and continuing on. Your message in each and every song has helped me in continuing more then you will ever know. Your brother and you are true angels on my life.

Didn't realize dude was from like 60 miles from my hometown, this song is my life.. army, family then one mistake and my family does this shit.. love this.... respect the comment on why you wrote this.. I feel this and I'm pushing 50.. 4 deployments,21 yrs then boom 8 yr sentence, did 6 yrs 9 months and still having it thrown in my face.. yeah I should have did things differently but is what it is, being real I've saw your videos on occasion and passed it by, mini thin was the only country rap dude I listened to, now you got my man.. thanks for writing the song I can relate to, I don't relate to inner city and gang bangers, even with eminem I can relate somewhat, pill issues, age and understanding his lines, but this, this is 💯 tennessee life.. can't wait to dig in and listen to more.. I'll do lip sing videos on fb and use the song as a tool, showed my prison id on one, parole papers, pictures of me in Iraq and just do it for fun bc I can't write shit.. glad my half sister turned me on to this

I listen to your music daily! It seems as every song hits me differently! This song reminds me of my brother. We went through it as kids and grew up faster than we were supposed to. My brother was the man of the house. He still has our backs as adults. I applaud you and your music! I'm a true fan! Thank you!

Most "rappers" and "artists" today, well, their music is interchangeable, its generic, its predictable, it's mostly garbage. You can't feel their heart when you listen to it.. unlike Jelly Roll. Alot of ppl feel like hes putting to words exactly how they feel, myself included. The music speaks to us. And I wanna thank you for it, Jelly. When I'm down, and I listen to you, I don't feel so alone anymore. So, thank you. Just keep being you. You are special to alot of people. Keep it up

White People Rule The World the fuck? Jelly is a white boy from the south, a self proclaimed piece of trailer trash. Who tends to put out more country or rock music than rap...of course, your user name there says plenty about who you are as a person. And this part is just between me, a white male under the age of 35, and you,...but you’re the worst type of trash if that’s how you really think off of the internet, you ignorant fuck.

I don't have a good relationship with my parents at all. My dad physically and mentally abused me and my mother allowed him to do it. She never believed me when I told her what was happening. I lost the only person that actually cared about me when I was 12, I'm 33 now going on 34. I lost my grandfather. He was the only one who cared. This hits home. I've been s***ally assaulted by my first ex and have to deal with that. Now I had to deal with a miscarriage and having cancer in my uterus afterwards. I had to have the cancer removed. I had a hysterectomy so no chance of having kids now. Most of my dreams have been squashed like a bug. But I'm still here. Still fighting. I'll never give up. Jelly Roll listening to your music has helped me through what I've been going through. Thank you so much and please stay strong for all of us. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
