I am so sorry, I know your pain I lost my 22 year old nephew last year 10 days before Christmas! I am now in the anger stage of grief because this shouldn’t be happening to young people. Senator Van Hollen's testimony includes the story of our daughter, Trinity, who died a few weeks ago after taking a pill she thought was percocet (1:38:52 into the video). This epidemic is killing our children and we need to do something about it. My wife and I are going to do everything we can to help raise awareness and be advocates for people living with addiction and families that are dealing with the loss of a loved one to overdose. #Fentanyl #OnePillCanKill 💜💜💜

My name is Deanne and I am a resident of San Francisco for the last 21 years, I have lost a husband and a brother to the tragedy of fentanyl, as well as countless friends and loved ones. Normally I do not pay attention to politics unless it's something that really grabs my attention. The devastation of this epidemic not only grabs me but is in my face daily! I have taken the time to watch this entire conference and reposted it in an effort to reach as many as possible. I am personally more than grateful and genuinely moved by the compassion and commitment to this war on fentanyl that each one of you have expressed. I believe that if we are going to win this, the devotion we each share will have to reach every corner, every culture and every level of humanity. But we all know that it takes signatures to make it happen. Thank u "Jellyroll" for being our voice! Thank you for your bravery to speak out and advocate for so many who aren't able to. The voice of those who are no longer here, the voice of us who cry out, and the voices of those who don't even realize they want or need help yet. You are our angel. Also, Thank you to the law enforcement who hold strong, time and time and time again, day after day even when it's breaking you down on the inside. You still show up. U are heros! I ABSOLUTELY agree with all you said. It is important to recognize the vast wave of trauma that this disease spreads. In order to put the ball back in our court we have to be smarter and faster...... When a weed gets in your garden, you don't clip it's stems to get rid of it, you pull it from the roots. I think that this bill will give us the opportunity to do just that. I don't normally vote but I will certainly check the upcoming ballots because this is something we cannot afford to be silent about. This drug and the people who promote it have absolutely no respect for ANY quality of life. They rob us everyday of memories that will never be made and life that will never be experienced every time a life is lost. I am confident that we have what it takes to take back control of the situation with representatives like you on the front lines fighting for us. THANK YOU from San Francisco......

It restores my faith a little tiny bit in Congress to hear this testimony. I lost a daughter to fentanyl several years ago. One pill she thought was Xanax was contaminated with fentanyl. She was not a drug addict. A "friend" gave it to her because she was anxious about her job. An issue I have had always with this discussion is that all deaths are referred to as overdoses. There is no judgement here, but people are dying because of one pill, middle schoolers are dying because of one pill...people who use a number of drugs routinely who would never "overdose and die" on their respective drugs are dying because of one pill or hit or whatever...this should be considered an epidemic, a public health epidemic that should be given the full weight of government...cartels, China, the border....narcan in all schools, public education, there has to be a massive effort on all fronts...

Never did I think when I heard “Save Me” by Jellyroll on Facebook I’d seem him making real change. As a recovering heroin addict with almost 8 years clean I felt this man’s music. The longer I watched him and followed him I realized he’s a genuine soul. His wife is incredible, his team, his kids. This makes my heart so happy. I’ve been to a million concerts in my life. Every single time I’ve been to a jellyroll concert I genuinely cry like a baby. Congress needs to listen to this man. Fentanyl is killing my generation and the generation behind me. This fentanyl doesn’t compare to ANYTHING the world has seen. Something has to be done. When he says “Fentanyl will make the Sackler family look like saints”…that’s FACTS. If you’ve never been exposed or affected by this opioid crisis be grateful. This crisis goes way farther than most people could ever know. Jellyroll and Bunnie thank you for all you do. I pray something changes sooner than later. ❤❤

Jelly Roll is making history. Musicians need to take heed and learn from his sacrifice. Jelly Roll took the steps forward and even shared a real personal tragedy with the world. I respect this Man, and i believe that he is a force unseen, and has yet to flourish into the leader he is destined to become. FENTANYL needs to be reckoned with and all the people who maliciously choose to produce and traffic this poisonous drug need to be dealt with as terrorists. They know they are causing death and terror amongst the people of our communities, and still deliberately continue to plan and maneuver their illicit drug trades. Jelly Roll, i have love for You Brother. I am also going to join You in the Cause against Fentanyl. Family First, Rise Up!

This is exactly why I buy every album Jelly Roll puts out and wear his shirts, hoodies and letterman jackets at least a few times a week. Jelly Roll speaks for me and for so many others who have struggled with addictions or those of us who have loved ones who have struggled with or died from their addictions. ❤ We addicts just have a disease but once we recover- recovery looks different for each of us but we all hold one very powerful thing in common because once we find recovery we are the most powerful people capable of changing the entire world. We are smart, beautiful people who CAN & WILL bring about the changes we need in society. We are stronger than most and have been through the ringer and for once we feel heard. Thank you Jason. ❤

I'm sober 782 days today and I pray I could find a job where I can stand up for change! To fight for the lives of addicts who aren't strong enough to fight for themselves! To be a voice and get thru to those who don't understand the struggle and be part of the solution! Hooray to those not giving up and working hard to make change! #fuckfentanyl #wedorecover

Lost my father in mid 2021 to Fentanyl, listed as an overdose, in which was an enormous surprise. He was found in a sleeping position in his bed, not found by a coroner until 11 in the evening, in which i still dont know how long he was deceased there. I live every day since with a broken heart missing him and everything he did for everyone. He was amazing and fentanyl stole him. 😢

Well proposing a violation of the rights of people who aren't convicted of a crime or anything should make anyone look insulted. Well anyone that cares about their rights. Besides there is no need for that if they just stop the supply alls good. Problem is the unspoken truth. The government makes huge bank over allowing a certain amount of drugs into the country. The war on drugs is really the war to maintain the status quo. If drugs simply ceased to exist tommorow that would leave roughly 350k federal agents out of a job. Can't have that. More to it as well, but you get the idea. Government isn't gonna solve this problem. Government caused this problem.

Honestly. As an American I am kind of tired each representative always getting a plug in to say “because of the other side of the aisle”. It’s as if every time they speak, it’s setting thd public up to choose a side. When really, we just want to hear the facts and their opinions on how we can correct issues. Sooooo much time gets wasted on unnecessary “issues”. So when an important issue comes up, why can’t they just have a conversation and come to a meeting of the minds. The blame game plugs are so annoying when a serious issue is on the table!
