I have a question. I layered my four strips and cut the A’s and B’s. For the C squares, the pattern says to cut three, which would give me twelve squares. Don’t I need 16 squares? If I am making four- patch blocks, I would need four colored squares and four white squares. Four colored squares times four strips should be 16 squares, not 12. Am I not thinking correctly?

This is great!! You give such amazing tips Kimberly! What is the pins you recommended please?
Thanks for the Quilt Along. I've cut out blocks one and two and will start piecing today. Please consider eliminating the word "each" from the cutting directions of the background strips. It works for the jellyroll strips but not the background. Using the word "each" for the 5 background strips is confusing because it really translates as 8 - 2.5 X 8.5 pieces from "each" strip, and so on. Not possible. I know it isn't possible to make the listed cuts from "each" of the 5 strips, but it might help us out if this was changed. Thanks, Laura Reed
