do you have to open ports/port forward on your router for ngix to acces things like radarr sonarr etc outside of your home
@KLTechVideos21 сағат бұрын
Never ever open ports on your router for the arrs apps like Sonarr or radarr. What you want is some sort of VPN to connect back home and access them on your local network. Those types of applications and never optimized for security and can easily be brute forced. If you watch my episode 2 video it shows you how to use internal domains which you can use outside of your home via VPN. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJyQqmWti9CMasUsi=_I4jwgK42TwomZQz

how do i change my folder or add a new one on radarr and sonarr its killing my c drive
@KLTechVideos2 күн бұрын
Hey thanks for watching. It depends on if you want to access this only inside your network or when your away from your network. If you want to use it on your phone inside the network (Usually when your at home or on vpn) you can use the same ip address and port number the computer jellyfin is installed so for me this would be 192.168.1.2:8096 but if you want to access your jellyfin outside your network maybe sharing it with others or not on vpn you could setup a reverse proxy. I have a couple videos you might want to look at such as Nginx Proxy Manager kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIbUoXypg7VqgNU&t. quick doubt, when you were setting up the reverse proxy, i believe you set it up in internal network right? Then why did you allow remote access? Is this secure way to do it? As I have always read that using a VPN to local network is better option
@KLTechVideos4 ай бұрын
Depends on your situation mine was for demonstration purposes. But good catch! 😂 Yes using a VPN is one of the best methods to keep services secure without exposing them. But if you do want to share it with people like friends you also might not want those friends having your network access as well via your VPN. So you can expose via a reverse proxy. I set internal as wanted to reverse proxy without allowing outside access. Bearing in mind I had so setup some allowed ip addresses in the access list for the internal access but I'm going off topic now. Ultimately whatever suits your needs. Thanks for watching and your comments. Don't forget to like and subscribe 🖖 welcome onboard 👍 I

Thank you so much for another fantastic video! I've been looking forward to this guide. Your explanation on running Jellyfin on Docker was just what I needed. I was having trouble pointing Jellyfin to my media, but your video made it so clear and easy to follow! Could you please teach us how to set up Audiobookshelf and Kavita on Docker? It would also be great if you could show us how to troubleshoot when ARR apps like Lidarr and Readarr don't detect music or ebooks. Specifically, I need help ensuring these apps can access content on other drives outside the container folder. I tried following the TRaSH guides but couldn't get it to work. Understanding how Docker handles external folders would be really helpful. Thank you again! I love your videos-they're the easiest to understand and follow!
@chocolatezt5 ай бұрын
Isn't setting up audiobookshelf and kavita pretty much the same as this? take the compose file, set the volumes, done? I get why one would look into specific configuration, but the basic setup is pretty well explained in the docs and pretty much copy paste.

A lot of people prefer a walk through guide not only for the setup aspect but also the demonstration of the software. A well rounded demonstration can save time if it turns out not to be what your after.

Does anyone knows a way for indexers (prowlarr ,sonarr, radarr, etc) to grab the ones with the highest seeders? because i'm getting torrents with like 1 or 2 seeders and it's taking over 3 days to download just one single movie. And also would there be any way yo say just get one language? because i'm getting movies in like 20diferrent languages and one 2hr movie weighs like 80GB in 1080p because of all the other languages. Thanks in advance.
@KLTechVideos2 ай бұрын
Hey thanks for watching. I'm definitely planning a video on how to get the best configurations. Right now a leading publication on this is called trash guides for the arrs apps a Google search will get you their. What your after is pretty straightforward. In prowlarr click on an indexer and then edit. You can specify the minimum amount of seeders amongst other settings. You can also go into Sonarr and radarr settings and set profiles and custom formats for size and language. Have you also considered usenet? It's a faster more secure higher quality content downloading method for things like this. I have a video about it here... kzbin.info/www/bejne/anqqfHljgMSFncUsi=jmaFl3Evl-rdriD1 I also have a video on setting up the arrs (Sonarr ect...) here... kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZzCfqp7Zb9meacsi=-p3u6ExHR-Sms97I don't forget to like and subscribe and welcome onboard 🖖

I’m using Linux and I reinstalled my Jellyfin now it doesn’t auto start when I restart my computer. I have to type Jellyfin in the terminal to restart it. There a terminal command to auto start jellyfin but I’m apparently not entering the right online keyword search to find it. Great video really appreciate all the little minor details!

Hey thanks for watching. Your not running anything else similar are you like emby on the same system which might impact the startup? If not run these commands after each other sudo systemctl start jellyfin sudo systemctl enable jellyfin This tells the system to start jellyfin and the second command tells it to start it at every boot. You can also run this command to see the current status and any errors... sudo systemctl status jellyfin

So first you'll need to point a domain at your routers public IP address, port forward 443 and use a reverse proxy like Nginx proxy manager. I've done a video here kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIbUoXypg7VqgNUsi=uVv2jlpA4YoALgZu . Alternatively if it's just you using it you could also setup something like a VPN such as wireguard or Nord mesnet which I'm doing videos on soon.

Hmm I have ben using Plex for years, what is your opinion between Plex , Emby and Jellyfin? I know its probably subjective and i do pay for Plex so just curious if I should give it a whirl lol. Thanks for video!
@KLTechVideos4 ай бұрын
Ultimately your correct it's personal preference. My main media server is Emby and I pay for premier. I might do a video on the differences so thanks for the idea 💡 jellyfin was basically the original emby. Some of the Devs didn't want to paywall features so created jellyfin. That said emby in some areas has progressed a lot faster and has some more advanced features and plugins as a result of the paid features. Never used Plex but would to research for a video.
