This is such a helpful tutorial! I’ve been searching for hours and this was the most helpful. Thank you!!! I’m struggling with a map data viz for the Google DA course. Mind if I ask you about it? I’ve got a list of start and end longitude/latitudes for stations. My goal is to make a density map showing all stations. Since there is a start and end location for each trip I’m not sure how to best go about that. Should I combine them? Create a filter? I also have two membership types and I’d love to somehow show both, possibly via a filter as well. I’ve spent all day on this, it’s driving me crazy 😹 And advice or direction you could offer would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Jonathan! Glad it was helpful. I think I get what you're trying to do. So you have coordinate locations per journey; start and end. Hence two sets of longitude and latitude. You want to display all locations at once view a density map? Is that right?
@NocturneTheatre2 жыл бұрын
@@jellymaneducation6168 That’s exactly right! I’d also like to add a filter for “membership type” between two options, as each trip is one of two. :) Thanks so much for the reply!!!

Your Tableau Course in Udemy is Awesome. Loved it. Learned too many new features from there. Thanks a lot for creating such a nice course. Also Jed, is it possible for you to create a new course on Tableau Server Administration?

hello sir , a question please now if my data include a study for these : euorope , asia , USA and others and I want to make map viz and when I load the map it comes pale and gray so I went to the map and click on edit location , then I stuck not knowing what to press can you tell me what to do then for showing these 4 elements on my map viz ?

You may need a country field added to your data set if you haven't got one already. The in edit locations, set the country to your country field.

The blue circles don't show up on my map. I was following a tutorial somewhere else. Example: Canada map where they call State/Province set up as Field Region string format. they created the bar to show covid cases for each state/province: Alberta, Toronto, etc. So the bar is vertical and then the tutorial selects map from the show me panel, and show only the map and names of the region, but does not show the blue circles to display the number of COVID cases(sum)even after adjusted size, etc. So what is missing?

Whenever I do maps, I very rarely, if EVER, create it from a different viz first. Ime. Create a bar chart rhen convert to a map. It causes all sorts of issues if you're new to Tableau. The best approach is always to double click the geographical field first and then modify from there. Also, it's a good idea to create a fresh sheet because remnants of past visualisation settings can mess up the maps

Hey Jed... Awesome as always! 😀 Would you please let me know when are you going to introduce your full fledged tableau course? U were talking about! Eagerly waiting 🥳🥳
@jellymaneducation61683 жыл бұрын
Hey Reshu! Will do. Its taking me a lot longer than I anticipated but steadily working on it. I'll definitely do some promotion when its complete. Btw, as a survey question, how much would you be willing to pay for a complete Tableau course for the entire paltform?
@reshusharma40003 жыл бұрын
@@jellymaneducation6168 ...well I m not very sure about it 😅 because if I want to learn something which is useful to me.. I m willing to pay anything but if you ask let's try to cap on my limits, which would be around (150 - 300 $) that is in turn cost me around (10,000 - 30,000 INR)

@@jellymaneducation6168 On a map, I want to identify all the offices within the state, on the same map I want to identify and count the number of sites that office and person are responsible for.

I find it works with the City & Country data but Tableau seems to struggle with the state/province locations automatically, or is it just me?

Hello @Jellyman Education, this video was very helpful. However, I would appreciate you doing a video on how to construct a multi-layered map/dashboard with a subset of US states. Ideally, this dashboard could also toggle between years and different categories of data. Any help would be appreciated.

I feel myself stupid. If I can not follow this video it means I never understand tableau. I'm kind of discouraged. This software is too complicated for me.
@jellymaneducation61682 жыл бұрын
I understand. Ive met a lot of people who get tableau right away and a lot that dont. Tableau to most people is something new. And learning new things takes time. Not getting it right away is not a sign of stupidity, its a sign you're doing something you've never really done before and that takes courage to persist.
