In the 1980s, Sunbow Productions released Jem, G I Joe, and Transformers all at once. Thus, Sunbow was controlling the majority of all of America's youth.

Halpin2006, if I remember my TV watching in those days (was already a young adult by the mid '80s) Marvel Productions / Sunbow had to compete with the Hanna-Barbera machine, which dominated network TV animation back then and a few other producers like Filmation (OG He-Man and She-Ra) and quite a few smaller players in both network TV and syndicated TV (any other show not meant for Saturday Morning on one of the 3 US Broadcast Networks). So, no... I'd say H-B was quite a lot more controlling back then, but not for lack of Marvel / Sunbow not trying... Pity that Marvel / Sunbow didn't last too much long after JatH as the company didn't exist anymore by the early '90s. PS: At the time H-B was transitioning from the Taft ownership into Great America Broadcasting, not being touched by Turner just yet (then by Time Warner and into today's AT&T administration)...

@@darren2514fv - but T-Birds 2086 may had any kind of success in The British Isles (because of the success of the "marionation" output before), but was DROWN in The Americas by the sheer amount of output the major animation studios (DiC and Disney TV Animation weren't yet a big thing until later on) were doing back then. Marvel Productions* and their partners started in 1982 (one of the cartoons that started it all was Meatballs and Spaghetti, along with the Spider Man cartoons). Their FLOODGATES opened in 1983 with the first GI Joe mini series, competing against Season 1 of OG MOTU. * their roots go all the way into 1969 when David H. De Pattie and Isadore (Friz) Freleng established DFE Films to make The Pink Panther cartoons.

@@1Soniccool - IIRC, Hasbro got most of their IP rights back in the early - mid Aughts just after they recuperated from almost being bankrupt because of the overproduction of Prequel Star Wars action figures. The problem was that as for 7 years Hasbro didn't even got the rights to the character name Jem, as the name copyrights expired in the '90s and they didn't renew them and was gotten by Paramount for (Jem Ha'dar) a alien Star Trek: Voyager character. Paramount didn't renew their character name rights.

Hi, just a critique on the mix. The vocals are getting lost a little bit. Might I recommend putting an EQ dip on a few of the tracks which share a similar frequency band to her vocals? Otherwise a great remaster.

The movie is worse. They are using a cliche, over-used plot, and gave away everything that is going to happen in the trailer. It's trying to pander to 12 year old girls of today by using everything that has already been used. Trailer: Oh no, will she pick fame or her friends? No problem there, as most of us have gotten over it and may there never be those same mistakes again. 😃 The animated series rocks. It wasn't flat, boring, nor pandering to girls, nor was it bad. 😃 The movie was good for some people, but it was not the same as the animated series with all the same fun, interesting, exciting elements to it. 😃 And I can't wait for the fan made movie of Jem with all the characters from the series coming out in Spring. Woohoo! 😃
