I like to think Pizzazz and Bah Nee bonded off screen when the Misfits owned the Starlight Foundation. Perhaps actually having to take care of the girls also gave the Misfits an appreciation for everything Jerrica and the others do. I also think Bah Nee's idealization of a father and Pizzazz's strained relationship with her's would lead to some good moments.

We'll be waiting forever. There was a campaign for IDW comics to hire Christy Marx to do season 4 (and she was encouraging us to Tweet at them) but they turned a blind eye and went with the reboot comics instead. The comics are Jem G2, it has nothing to do with the 80's original Jem. Kimber is a completely different character, so are Stormer, Jetta, and others. We'll never know what happened to these characters from our childhood. Jem's sad smiling face is the last time we ever see her.

If it doesn't just dismiss the plot altogether that is. (Example: Any plot involving Stormer and Kimber) What is weird is how praised the Jem Comics were given their final quality but what I learned is that people praised them early on, and people dropped the series FAST afterwards. Ohh well.

To add on. Rio has an irrational hatred of liars and sneaks (it is actually a catch phrase he has). Jerrica feared the very real possibility that they would break up. The makers of Jem didn't have a lot of time to plan for the end and they likely thought the time they had left wouldn't have done justice to the arc. They were really hopeful they would get renewed or revived at one point... I am actually disappointed they didn't. Jem has a freakish amount of depth for a children's show.

I always kind of saw Jem as a soap opera in cartoon form. It had continuing drama, romance, soap like villains, fashion. It's interesting that I read others thinking the same. I wish that they would bring it back, but the time line should stay in the 80s.

I'll admit after all these years and I'm now 49 years old I get teared up because you got one of the orphans leaving which she finally got to reunite with her dad and to see her leave the place she called home. A very beautiful ending of a great cartoon show from the 80's.

This show ended thirty-five years ago, yet watching this last video, it seems like yesterday. I was in my thirties, with twin daughters about BaNee’s age. I loved this show, and oh, how I wished that they could have wrapped things up, even more; Jen revealing the truth to Rio, and though he may have been angry and hurt, he’d come to realize that he loved the same woman two different ways. It would have been great to see them engaged and planning their wedding. It would have been nice to see Philyss Gabor (Pizazz) and her father make peace. A lot of who she was and the way she acted came from her father not accepting and loving her for who she was. Perhaps she and Jen could have formed a friendship of sorts. Wishful thinking, I know. But I was always a dreamer. Miss you, still, Jem.

i think Jem and the Holograms was one of the few Cartoons to get a real ending episode from the 1980's GI Joe -- did not Transformers (at least the US Transformers cartoons) did not (Rebirth, the last 3 episodes was in fact season 4's premiere & only episodes) Thundercats -- nope He-Man and She-Ra -- nada Robotech -- yes kind of (it was left as a cliff hanger in the last episode and was picked up 20 years later in Shadow)

In that episode Riot takes the decision to "pull the plug" on a cartoon series he'd contracted of his and his group's likenesses (guess where they took the idea...) at a meeting in his office. So, "The Creative Barn" had only about 4 episodes to "wrap it all up" which is +4 episodes from many other cartoons.... One of the many things this cartoon took from REAL LIFE.

Rio always chooses Jerrica mostly because while he likes Jem he likes the part of her that is in her but in the end he likes how responsible Jerrica is. In fact he tries to break things off with Jem plenty of times but Jerrica constantly drags him back because she needs his support. It is the ONLY thing that makes Rio's cheating not entirely his own fault. Rio will always chose Jerrica, she is the complete package so to speak. Jem is just one facet of her.

But it also came back with a great comic and some beautiful new dolls, I'll take those with pride. But It really deserved better movie treatment this cartoon is so loved. I wouldn't mind an animated show or movie based on the comics, but I don't think that would happen... I can only dream.

Just finished the series, good timing as its leaving Netflix in a week or so, I have never seen season three when I was a kid, so cool stuff. Nice to see most everything resolved, big fan of Riot and the Stingers. Think Riot has more upside as the guy for Jem, sorry Rio.

The series could have kept going, it was only BaNee's life at Starlight house that ended. There could have been more songs, more adventures for the Holograms. Maybe even a crossover with Blaster and Soundwave
