Ngl, the biggest thing that bugs me about WT's F7F-1, is that it has the incorrect cockpit. It uses the cockpit of the F7F-1N instead of the regular F7F-1's cockpit as the one ingame has a radar scope, which was not found on the base F7F-1, only on the F7F-1N and the other Night Fighter versions of the aircraft as those had an actual radar in the nose of the aircraft. IRL the F7F-1 had a much different thing sitting in that spot, which was usually a compas

Hi Jengar, a few years ago, I was visiting a friend in Arizona, and, while there, we visited a kind of mothball fleet for planes. They had a very large number of different planes including the Tigercat. I became familiar with the Tigercat through War Thunder, and, I have to say, I was very impressed with its looks - especially standing in front of it with the guns pointing at me. It came a little too late to see combat in WWII, but it was used in Korea. Interestingly enough, it was originally named the Tomcat, but that name was dropped because, in the 40s, that was a term that had sexual overtones.

@@rossturner3650 i dont call them female for no reason. Pilots in the war often said you need to handle your plane like you handle your lady. Sometimes gentle, sometimes rough.

definitely one of my favourite planes of the ww2 era, sad that it didn't arrive in time before the war ended. i find a fascination with bigger planes for carrier use and the F7F can really hit hard in game too.

One of the few prop planes I have yet to spade in the US tech tree...she sure looks very nice and I tend to enjoy those "big" planes, rather than single seat fighters, so I will definetely take her out for a spin soonish. Great review there, mate :)

I Love this one, its almost better than the AD-2/AM-1/AD-4 at killing JU288cs with its spawn. Jengar, you and me seem to have very synchonized progress in the American tree nowadays.

3:46 I mostly play ground realistic but watching you teaches me some very cool techniques to use aircrafts. Back then I would turn with him if I got into this situation. But after I learned this move from you months ago, I now make a loop to maintain altitude and engage when he climbs up. Just a little more patient and my kill/death rate increment can be seen.

An interesting fact : F7F was commissioned by Us Navy at the same time as Hellcat. Great vid, cant wait for American rank 4 planes compilation. Kind regards

Love this plane. It has good climb rate and speed. The fire power is what attractive of this plane. If i had to choose between f8f and f7f i go for the tigercat. Too bad this plane was late for the war.

I tried this plane on AAA far too slow compared to the jets I wasted my time , so its sat in my hanger unplayed ???😓

Did you know that the US Marines installed wings of Me-262 with its jets on the F7F as an experiment, they called it the Swallowcat. It looks really beautiful if you ask me. You can find a pic on the web.

you can get home on one engine, i didnt say anything about a real climb.

@@jengar6258 idk about you, but I've tried flying completely flat and I started falling until I pitched upward

@@kavemanboi3876 i have to say that in both cases i got one engine killed i had some alt, and with the one engine i could easily make it home. Though one was almost at the enemy base, and i only had 2500 meters alt. Made it home in one piece just about.

@@jengar6258 yeah, for me as soon as one engine goes I start losing altitude fast, and I have to point upwards at least a little bit to keep from crashing
