Jack himself is an undead Eldritch abomination, who was sacrificed in a ritual by his friends and girlfriend (jenny), during the ritual, they managed to summon a demon, Chernabog, who possessed Jacks body while he was still partly alive, so he himself is an eldritch abomination and Chernabog is the demon, lol

Actually, Eyeless Jack is a demon! In the fanmade origin story by user La Mishi Mishi (creator of Sally Williams.) it is said that he was a college student who made friends with some other students who, one night, invited him to come hang out in this cave. He went, and when he got there, they were in mysterious robes. They had gotten Jack vulnerable and had poured steaming hot, black tar, into his eyes. Then, they sacrificed him to their “lord” that they served in their cult. When he regained consciousness, he was a demon and had slaughtered his “friends” and taken a souvenir.
