I have fragile fine hair so I have to be very careful with heat I can’t even use titanium flatirons! Question, do you put any moisturizing products, oils etc in your hair throughout the week?

Sis you are so right about damage. To be honest the damage is in the products ladies. I would say avoid sulfates, ph's, and all the extra. Use virgin products and pay the extra buck for professional styling products💯

I grew up being taught the same that your hair is TRAINED not heat damaged. I think it makes a lot more sense too, cuz if you’ve been straightening your natural curly or kinky hair for 20+ years, well guess what? That hair is gonna eventually learn to not curl up as much. I haven’t had a relaxer in YEARS maybe almost 10 tbh, and even my sides stay slicked down. So I agree with you, unless there’s breakage, it’s not necessarily damage but trained.

Isn’t heat damage once your curls have been altered? Doesn’t matter if it’s breaking or thinning. And damaged hair is thinning/breaking etc.? lol idk I’ve seen keratin serums and I just know it’ll make the silk press so smooth but always afraid of my curls not reverting but I think I’ll finally give it a go

Yes, but some people consider heat damage “damage” and think that your hair can’t be healthy even when your curls are altered. That’s not true. “Heat damaged” hair can also just mean “heat trained”.

Heat trained and heat damage is the same thing it’s the damage of the structure or loosening of a curl pattern you have a bit in the front of you hair because of how often you use heat every weekend or every other weekend but nonetheless your silk press looks very nice 😊

So beauty supply store flat irons tend to be cheaper quality and don’t last as long. Also, with my hair texture I have to use titanium plates. Ceramic plates don’t really press my hair out well and i feel like beauty supply stores typically sell ceramic flat irons. Overall this brand is just better quality.
